SpectraFix FinalFix Fixative

SpectraFix Natural Artist Materials presents a new way to seal and protect your artwork with our new FinalFix spray fixative. It dries rapidly to a durable, matte, water-resistant finish, that protects your artwork from scuffs and soiling, so that you no longer have to frame under glass.
Like all SpectraFix products, FinalFix is completely non-toxic, archival and non-yellowing, and can be sprayed indoors at your easel without concern for fumes or nasty odors. It is made with completely natural ingredients including casein and beeswax, which have a proven track record of permanence and stability.

Milk casein has been used to bind pigments for thousands of years, and is one of our original Bio-Polymers, which is to say, it is a natural plastic. The casein proteins 'crosslink' over time, and become durable and water resistant, while at the same time allowing the brilliant colors of your pigments to shine through. All SpectraFix products are fully natural, and contain nothing that could compromise your health. They can safely be used indoors and do not require special ventilation or trips to the garage. Yes, there is a color shift due to the beeswax. SpectraFix Degas fixative has less of a shift.

Yes, the beeswax in FinalFix shifts the color more than our Degas Fixative, but it yields a very durable protective layer.

How many, say A4 drawings will it cover?

It goes quite a long way, you could cover many sheets. However, A4 copy paper may buckle a bit.

Hi Birdsong, The SpectraFix Degas fixative does a better job on Oil Pastel than this product, because this product contains beeswax and does not adhere as well to the Oil Pastels.

@@invereal please tell me if I can use it over wax crayons art which are water soluble which were used on top of a Crayola sketch

@@katherinearion9169 No, it won't work over wax crayons, the wax will repel the liquid and it will peel off.

Yes C.M., it is quite workable and will easily accept more layers of pastel or colored pencil.
