Hey gf…what a beauty!!! That stone is so gorgeous-I sometimes find regular Labradorite a little underwhelming, with the flash almost “muddy” looking… The necklace is stunning!!! Hope the night market was a huge success for u!!! Big hugs to you & Missy!!!🧡

Yes it’s a favorite! I hear ya on any of the flashy stones…not all are created equal 😂 but same applies for ALL stones really! Labradorite, Spectrolite, Moonstone, Sunstone, & anything that has a flash have an extra special place in my heart but that doesn’t mean they’ll all have FANTASTIC effects, it’s not a guarantee & thus pricing usually reflects their quality! I’m still recovering from the market & to say I’m disappointed is an understatement! Besides it being 92F whiling setting up & literally almost passing out several times I ended up only selling 1 piece!!!!! More than likely I won’t do any markets again as it’s simply not worth it to me! I’ll stick with all the things I’m currently doing & keep building my channel! Hope you had a great weekend! 🙏😊💜💙🩵💚

@@karensintuitivejewelry I’m so sorry that didn’t work out for you!!! I’ve heard they are a lot of work and people are looking for bargains(cheap)…it was way to hot for all of that business!!! You seem to be doing good with what you are currently doing so you don’t need that hassle!🥴 Have a great week!!! Love & hugs

Well, it’s a beautiful stone for some reason I can’t get labradorite spelt right. It spelt it right.!!!!! I had no idea they were called different names. Thanks for the info Karen. Hugs 🤗, Michelle

🤣🤣🤣 you’re so funny gf! There’s several different variations within the Labradorite family such as Moonstone is actually white Labradorite! Who knew, right? Hope you’re doing much better now! 💖

Awesome stone! What temperature do you run your iron? My tips are always burning out and no solder will stick…😵

Thank you! Another favorite stone of mine! I work at around 700 F adjusting up or down depending on what I’m doing, sometimes a little lower temperature is better for making decorative dots & a higher temperature if I’m stamping! I’ve had this iron & same tip for 1 1/2 years with no problems! It took me a year of research & 7 different irons to finally gain the knowledge I needed to achieve the results I wanted! You shouldn’t be burning through tips if you’re keeping your tips clean & sounds like your iron is too hot if your solder is falling off! It’s probably your iron that’s the problem. I discuss all the challenges I went through & what I found are the best tools for the Tiffany Method of soft soldering if you’re interested… kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH_ViaJubLJ3a6csi=iYTeJuTI16Le2nTi I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊💖

I have been following your channel as I try to learn soft soldering. I just got my Hakko 601 and it is wayyyyy better than the generic iron I was using. But I have a question and was hoping you could point me in a direction. I have my iron set at 360. Less doesn’t seem to melt the solder. But my solder seems very gummy and when I apply it to the fluxed foil it gets black gunk on the melted solder. Since I am new at this it is probably EVERYTHING is not quite right. But is there anything you can advise on where to start my troubleshooting and fix? My solder right now is a no name solder from Hobby Lobby and I have no idea if it is acid or rosin core or just plain (it is def lead free). I tried the silvergleem you recommended and it does the same thing so I stopped using it while I am on this initial learning curve. When my pieces are cleaned there are what looks like dull dry patches in spots. Maybe iron too hot? Start with different solder? Thank you for ANY advice. I so appreciate your videos and all that you share. I bought a couple of books but they are project oriented and don’t really explain issues. ❤❤

Thank you so much for your interest & support! I’m happy to hear that you like the Hakko & see a difference! I’m very curious that it’s the actual solder & might be resin core. Can you send me a picture or the EXACT name of it & I’ll try to find the manufacturers detailed information on the ingredients! The black gunk is usually a sign of impurities & the white splotches is usually just a spot where you overheated that area for a split second! These areas can usually be polished out! I agree to hold off on using the more expensive Silvergleem until you’re a little more proficient in your skills & use a less expensive solder. Here’s a link to my 2nd preference of solder & the one I used for my first year while learning! I hope this helps! amzn.to/4b0odxR

Also what flux are you using? I prefer the liquid verses the paste/gel & here is the link to that! It doesn’t smoke, isn’t greasy & has way less fumes. amzn.to/3yXes69 If you haven’t already watched this Beginners video I’d suggest it.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH_ViaJubLJ3a6csi=5NAKKm2KF-545Grn

@@karensintuitivejewelry Thank you so much for your reply! The solder has no name. It is just a coil of solder that in a plastic tube that has a blue lid. I believe it was purchased at Hobby Lobby or Michaels back when they carried more soldering supplies. It smokes like crazy.

@@karensintuitivejewelry I will definitely get the solder you listed as your second choice. I am using Studio Pro flux - again a Hobby Lobby brand. It is VERY greasy. 😞 I will also purchase the one you recommend. Thank you again so very much! I got a couple of fairly nice little items with the stuff in hand, but wasted a lot of solder and foil on pieces where it was just a gloppy mess or was peppered with black flecks. Ugh! I am so very glad I found your channel! I like to make books and wanted to create little soldered pieces that I could add to the spines, to tassels, and as book marks and special page adornments. So a little funky is good - but controlled funky - lol!
