Lol...us as creators seeing someone make something we'd like to try,...thinking to ourselves," that looks simple enough"....😂😅😂😅!! Those learning curves, though,.. they catch you off guard n really test your patience! I went through different soldering irons, solder, flux, and had lots of issues until it finally worked,....and yep, still learning, and still trying new things. I haven't tried too much in the way of that solder bridging technique either,... like the one that artist used to create those little flowers you were trying out, but it does look like a challenge. I know Laura Beth Love has a video about it,....something about art nouveau scarab pendant? That is if you wanna look at it. Also I've seen a solder wicking "tape" I think it's called, that they use to pull off solder in electronics when they get too much solder in a spot that could help in different situations...like delicate bridging techniques, maybe? I hold on to pieces that don't work out to help me figure out what does work, plus I can usually use them on other creations.... sometimes...lol. Thanks for sharing your stories, your experiences, and encouragement. As always, you're amazing! And so are these pieces! Love the video, Karen. 🤣🤣🤣 yup! It’s just part of the crazy Fun! 😂 I’ve done the “filling in” with lots of different designs & I wasn’t too concerned about filing in the branches but those flowers 😂😂😂! But I was way off on how they were made & think I figured it out so I’ll attempt that again! Plus I’m actually thinking that whole flower/vine was create separately & then simply attached!!! The problem with my flowers is they were too 3D & not flat!! And yes I’ve seen basically every video L Beth has made! It’s really not that hard to bridge & you’ll see me use it in the recent Moonstone flower video! I bet that solder wick would work! Interesting! I really love this design and am going to have a go at it but would you mind telling a newby which alcohol you use to clean old wire please? Does it take away any tarnish? Hate to waste things which can be used again! I have been given some 'old' wire and would like to use it up as I learn. I loved the cabachon which you demonstrated with the plaited edge too but it looks quite complicated for me yet. I liked the original one best and the 2nd one reminds me of Christmas! That's just me though!! haha! Thanks in advance.

Thank you kindly! If it’s bare copper wire & tarnished you can use some 0000 steel wool to clean it. Alcohol won’t clean tarnish off. I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊

Why don’t you put the wire into the copper tape before taping the stone…I saw that technic in another video…less mess and work😉

Well, I have used that technique in the past & found it way more difficult to work with & achieve a really nice edge! I’d much rather focus on a great foiling & then just use a pre-tinned wire for a beautiful edge! Have you tried that technique yet? I always encourage people to try all techniques & discover what works best for them! Give it a Go if you haven’t! Thanks for your support! 🙏😊💖
