@Space Dandy you probably need to program the Cable Box (CBL) to your remote: 1. Manually turn ON the cable box 2. Press two buttons together - CBL and OK/SEL for 3 seconds 3. Press VOL down button once 4. Press CBL to save changes Do it quickly within 30 seconds.

Finally! After two years I was able to fix the lack of sound control on the cable remote. No more using the TV remote for sound. You sir should be in charge of Spectrum’s official guides.

Thank you so much for your help, this video was a lifesaver or should I say a remote saver. There's nothing worse than fiddling with a remote, not knowing if your doing it the right way. TV kept turning off, but wouldn't turn on, tried again and again to no avail. Even though I had the tv light on, it was still showing cable channels. I was able to manually switch the tv in the settings (on the tv) from cable to air. Tried again a few times, tv again would turn off, but not back on. Even though I had tried earlier inputting the 3 digit tv code that I got from the spectrum website in didn't work, but like Yourself said, patience....after about 2 hours of messing with it....entering the 3 digit codes individually again finally worked. Whohoo! I now have a remote for on/off, volume and hdmi source....Thank you again for taking the time to make this video.

This video helped me program my spectrum remote to my sanyo tv, so much easier than the instructions on their website. They list 4-6 different codes to try but being able to just do the a+ Tv then 7 was sooo much easier than struggling to find my tvs code. THANK YOU!

It took 3 tries to work and about 11 minutes total, but it did work. I have a Polaroid TV in my bedroom, not sure of the model buts brand new. I followed the instructions 💯 exactly!! I want to thank you very much 😊 I would say I'm not lazy, but when your dozing off to sleep, the last thing you want to do is get up and turn off the TV because then your stuck awake for another hour. Haha!! Your 👌awesome!!

I have a spectrum remote and a vizio tv. The remote is somewhat programmed to the tv and I want to use the setting button for the tv but it’s connected to the cable button if that makes sense. Like if I press volume up or down, the tv button lights up but if I press the settings button, the CBL button lights up. I want the tv button to light up when I press settings but I have no clue on how to do that. Any help would be appreciated.

One of my remotes went bad. So, to change channels I manually press the CBL button first. And to adjust the volume, I press the TV button on the remote first. A good remote should switch between the CBL and the TV buttons automatically.

To use apps on your TV, you need a dedicated LG remote. However, if you have different devices connected to the TV, you can cycle them by pressing on the "Video Source" button, on the bottom of this remote.

@@Your-Self ove tried the four codes assigned to Sharp TV: 251 363 684 692. The tv is a Sharp Roku TV...the remote is a spectrum URSU-8780L- BHC. The first two codes work to turn power off and on and volume. But channels, left, right, top, bottom arrow buttons do not work....scratching my head 😂....thanks for your help.

It worked except that the volume button on Spectrum remote does nothing when pressed so I have to change the volume from the tv or tv remote. Is there any way to fix this?

I may have the same problem now. When I change channels, the CBL button flashes and channels work. When I change the volume, the same CBL button flashes, but the volume doesn't change. However, if I depress the TV button (next to CBL), the volume works from the remote. But the channels don't work anymore, so I have to depress the CBL button for the channels to work again. This seems like an internal remote problem. Because it should automatically switch between the CBL and the TV buttons when you change channels or volume.

My volume stopped responding as well. The workaround is to press the TV button before changing volume, and press the CBL button before changing channels. Hope it works for you too.

If you use regular TV speakers (not an Auxiliary device,) try this: 1. Press and hold the TV and OK/SEL buttons for 3 seconds 2. Press and release VOL Up button 3. Press the glowing TV button to save changes. Done!
