Thanks for your comments about speech central. My son has dyslexia. I would like to understand how to use this app to read a normal (printed) book. Could you please help me?

The only way is to scan the book and that I can’t help you with.

You can use a scan app on your phone ! I have one on my iPhone and it was only $7 I think ! It’s tiny scanner, and I’m sure there are others .

Hello Stephan, thank you for your recommendation. I tried Voice Dream Reader Pro once but disliked the voices very much. I received a reimbursement from Apple. I still use the Siri voices from Apple a lot. They work great for me, even with the highlight feature. The female British Siri voice works best.

Yeah I'll agree that they work best. I switch between British and US voices depending on what author I read.

I have my pdf on my phone and now have this app on the same phone. But can't figure out how to load in the pdf. In this video the file was already present. How do you load the pdf? Thanks!

In the files app on your iPhone, long press on the pdf or epub and choose share. In the share menu choose the app that you want to open it with. Or in the speech central app click on the plus (+) icon in top right corner and browse for the file.

You can upload a text script and then download an audio file that you can use in your video when editing.

I don't see much benefit of this over the built in Apple text to speech, which works in iBooks and kindle apps as well as any web page or text file. It is using all the same voices as speech central.
