I appreciate your tutorial! I have listened to audiobooks since the early 2000s when I could carry an MP3 player. I have hundreds of audiobooks. But there was one book I wanted to listen to, but it doesn't look as if it will ever come out as an audiobook. So, maybe by now, there might be a way to listen to Kindle books (which I have by the 100s, too) via text-to-speech. I did a search and turned up your wonderful video! Thanks so much! I'm anxious to try it. Question: Can you turn off the display while listening or do you have to have the display on? UPDATE: Yes, you can turn off the display so that the book continues to be read by Siri! Again, thank you for making this discovery possible for me!

Make sure you Lock Screen orientation. If screen turns from portrait to landscape while Siri’s reading it will stop at the end of the page. With screen always on and orientation locked, it will keep turning pages forever, and you can listen for hours, or until the book ends, even if the phone’s in your pocket.

Again, using Apple's Books app, I've tried two ways of text-to-speech on my iPad: tapping an arrow on the left side of the screen brings up controls to turn on speech, which always starts at the top of the page, no matter where I want it to resume; & highlighting the page to see a menu which includes Speak. Either way, the reading stops at the end of a page, instead if continuing until I stop it. Also, you said to choose a Siri voice, because it learns & improves. Through the entire book, Siri continued to pause at every period (Mr. Mrs.), & its inflections & emphases remain robotic.@@svartling
