One thing you should know about John Farnham ( pronounced Farn--em) he is such a nice bloke and every Aussie for the last 50 years has grown up with him. He is soooo loved here in Aust and thats what you're obviously seeing. He has the ability to connect with the audience in a way I've never seen because you can tell he really loves his audience and he's not " up himself". He's just a down to earth Aussie. L❤ove him. Please do yourselves a favour and play more of his work.

Great reaction guys. So glad you’ve discovered John Farnham. He’s a legend here in Australia, we call him The Voice because he can sing genre and his voice is truly amazing. He does epic concerts and is also a great guy, very generous to his back up singers and musicians and totally without ego.

The man known, for obvious reasons, as the Voice, at his best. And yes, a really down to earth, lovely human. Watch his technique- no swallowing the microphone, just pure power. Now in his 7os, John was still belting out these songs until only a few months ago when he was operated on for oral cancer. He is recovering but sadly, may never sing again. He would be so rapt to know his voice and music is finding new audiences.

Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't the last song of this particular recorded concert. This was the last song of this particular encore. You see him on the DVD going backstage after singing this song and listening to the cheers of the crowd. After the crowd and some of the orchestra started cheering 'Sadie, Sadie', he came back on stage again for another encore and sang Sadie and finished with 'It's a Long Way to the Top (if you want to Rock and Roll)'. Quite a few people think it was the last song though! :-)

Thanks for the reactions guys... this is a cover of The Beatles song 'Help'... John Lennon got to hear this version before he was murdered months later and he said this was how he wanted to do the song.... but the music company made them perform it 'upbeat'... you don't make it in Australian music, unless you can sing live... we have a strong 'pub rock' scene... no autotune... which is probably why not many international artists come here... we don't put up with BS lol...... except Pink.... who loves Australia... we also don't mob celebrities... we don't give a shit lol.....

I attended a Stevie Wonder concert in Melbourne in 1981. John Farmon was the lead singer of The Little River Band, the support act for Stevie. Farmon upstaged Stevie. Wonder even admitted it and said he thought that John Farmon had the best voice he had ever heard. The best part of the night was that I got to meet both John and Stevie. I had a quick friendly chat with John but was too star struck when shaking Stevie Wonder's hand to say any thing to him. The sad thing is that John has cancer in both jaws.

No, it is not silent. It is just the way Aussies, with our lazy speech, pronounce it. It is an English word. The 'ham' on the end is short for 'hamlet 'which is a small village or group of houses in the country, from Old French, 'hamelete' .Many English place names end in 'ham' .People took a surname from where they lived.
