I can't put my finger on what it is, but your character designs really get my imagination going. I was really inspired by your characters, the camera lens prince and the vampire game girl. Now the same thing happens with this video. Just looking at the sketch, I have an urge to imagine the world and how she could move and what her story could be. It's weird because I don't remember feeling so strongly about all the hundreds and hundreds of characters I've seen in my life. I don't know. You must be doing something right :D. Hero of Ink I kind of doubt it will be 3D, long hair and clothes are especially difficult and expensive to rig in 3D, my guess is it’s going to be 2D, especially considering that it looks like a solo project she’s working on with maybe a few other people.

Lunar Lurker lavender really seems like she wants to focus on the tiny details, like pigtails moving with the run cycle and shadows that scribble...something tells me she wouldnt take such a shortcut. Not that shortcuts are bad, but she definatly wants to add her own personal charm

Everyone here saying the shading/hair/clothes would be too difficult for 3D, but it's really easy. You just need to know how to add "physics", and the shading is just a matter of coloring it. There are plenty of games with characters that have complicated designs and shading.

Razzle Dazzle Dorito I like to choose 2 colors first (Or 3 if two of them are close like orange and red) to make the palettes, and after that i keep playing with them until i have the final thing (Sometimes adding a neutral tone like black to make it less "colorful") You could also study color palettes from shows, movies or artists that you like (For example, Gravity falls has many warm and not-brightfull tones while Steven Universe is more pastel and colorfull) idk if that could help you but maybe you should try it Good luck 👍

You honestly inspire me so much. Before I started watching your videos, I had lost a lot of major confidence in learning art. I was taking a “advanced” art class at my school that they named “accent arts”, but it wasn’t really helping. I was trying to learn to draw in a very cartoony style, but they were always trying to push me forward to traditional style. They also kind of discourage the way I drew eyes, which were relatively larger than usual, which I did with my style to convey emotion better. I later quit going to that school for various personal reasons. Of course, I had started drawing watching your videos around the beginning of the school year. At first, before I started becoming a subscriber, I had basically lost all confidence in my art. I began to become extremely overcritical about the stuff I drew, eventually taking a tiny break from drawing. Eventually, I watched your videos like your “do this, not that” series, “character redesign videos”, and various others in that nature. Slowly, I started to regain confidence and pick up drawing again. I am attempting to get better at anatomy and character design, since I do want to get into making comics and animation. This comment might be worthless, you probably gets tons of these a day, but thank you. Thank you, Lavender, for you amazing and inspiring videos! Keep doing you, my dude!! ♡ Also, nice video! I can’t wait to see what this project is about. I really like the sort of medical vibe that’s coming off. People say that’s because the sketch is made of a lot of lines, and when you do your line art, it’s only one line. With the sketch, your brain registers every line and makes the best lines the most noticable to you, and since line art is only one line, your brain registers mistakes much more easily. People say the trick is to make a rough line art before your final line art. I have tried it and it was actually really helpful!
