RECIPES:
SLOPPY JO:
1 lb. hamburger
1/4 cup oats
1/2 onion, diced
3 Tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons mustard
4 Tablespoons brown sugar
Mix hamburger, oats, onions, salt, and pepper. Brown. Sprinkle with flour and stir. Add water and simmer. Then add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Serve on buns with a slice of your favorite cheese.
SWEET POTATO FRIES:
6 whole sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into strips.
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Melt butter and add the seasonings. Stir with a fork. In large bowl toss the sweet pototoes with the butter mixture. Arrange on a baking sheet and bake for 15 to 17 minutes.
DIP:
1/2 cup mayo
2 Tablespoons ketchup
KITCHEN AID MIXER BREAD:
4 teaspoons yeast
2 teaspoons salt
1/3 cup coconut oil
1/3 cup honey
2 eggs
2 cups warm water
6 1/2 cups flour
Pour water into your stand mixer bowl. Add yeast and stir around to dissolve. Next add salt, oil, honey, eggs, and 3 cups of the flour. Mix on speed 1 for 10 minutes, using the paddle attachment.
Add the remaining flour and mix for an additional 10 minutes on speed one with the dough hook. If it's still a little sticky add a little more flour, but not more than 1/4 cup.
Grease the sides and bottom of your bowl. Cover and set in a warm place until it is doubled in size. (about 45 min)
Form into loaves, dinner rolls, or buns and let rise again (covered and in a warm place)
TIP: When forming loaves make sure to knead out any air bubbles. You can also prick the loaf tops with a fork to get rid of any air bubbles.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
SALAD DRESSING:
Mix approximately 1 cup mayo, 1 Tablespoon mustard, 2 Tablespoons evaporated cane sugar. Salt to taste. Add vinegar to thin to the right consistency.
TEXAS SHEET CAKE:
BRING TO BOIL:
1/2 cup butter
4 Tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup olive oil
1 cup cold water
Remove from heat.
In a separate bowl mix:
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups evaporated cane sugar
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Add 1/2 cup milk and 2 eggs. Last, add the hot mixture. Mix thoroughly and pour and into a jelly roll pan. (Approximately 12"x 17")
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.

It’s BECAUSE of these videos that I may have gone a bit crazy purchasing candles from her shop. I never buy handmade candles. I’m too afraid they’ll smell like Play Doh-have had it happen once, and never went back; HOWEVERRRRRR, watching Ms. Mary and how wholesome she is, I dove in. Just want to tell you about a quick meal I enjoy, it’s my version of a Frito pie, a dish I’ve been eating since I was 14 or 15 in New Mexico, I’m 79 now, so that’s a really long time, I just put as many Frito’s on a plate as I think I’ll need for my dinner, (it’s about 1/3 what it used to be) add my favorite brand of chili, which is Wolf Brand Homestyle, add shredded cheese on top of that, then chopped lettuce, tomatoes, onion and top with my favorite salsa which is Herdez. This is about a ten minute meal for me, and my family always enjoys it. Also, have lived in three other states since I lived in NM, back in my home state of Texas.

Mary I bake Texas sheet cake once a month probably!!❤️ For the frosting, just melt butter and stir in cocoa powder. Then pour that into yr mixer w powdered sugar and milk, I have never let the frosting boil! Hope that works for you. Loved todays video, very relaxing for me! Ephram is a doll!! Arizona Janice

Jerry, other than my daughter in law’s chocolate cake, which we all just call The Cake now, it’s honestly the best I’ve ever had, the chocolate cake is my favorite, when my cousin gave me the recipe about 40 years ago, I think we made at least once a week…..we had to catch up! 😂 I once made it with a little orange extract in the frosting, but we didn’t like it as much as the original.

I love dusting with a Swiffer duster in addition to a cloth. It reaches high places and more easily dusts tight spaces and little knickknacks. Thanks for the sweet potato fries recipe. I was going to make those this week so I will try out your recipe.

Food looks yummy. Texan here, that sheet cake was a staple at our Wednesday night church suppers. It never failed, but a little grandma would make it, she put chopped Pecans in the frosting. It's one of my favorite sheet cakes. Pecan is our State tree.

@@cherylynn927 yes, she used evaporated cane sugar, but regular sugar works well too. For the icing: bring to boil 1 stick margarine (or butter), 4 Tbsp cocoa, and 6 Tbsp milk. Then add 1 tsp vanilla and 1 lb powdered sugar. Pour over hot cake.
