Speed Decluttering & LETTING GO

Today we're starting our 3rd round of decluttering in my mom's home. Because we put in so much work into the previous rounds, this declutter will be quicker and easier.To start our declutter, we're going to quickly sort through her small closet and see what she's willing to let go of so that she lightens her load and so that we can calm the chaos of this closet once again. It is great to see you go through a space for the 2nd or 3rd time because it shows how the decluttering muscles gets stronger. It´s a nice reminder that it´s OK not to get everything perfect right in the beginning and takes of some pressure. Merry Christmas! 🎄🌟

Watching this, I decluttered my night table, gathered documents for tax prep, and registered two appliances... And got papers I need to keep sorted to their actual home. Feels GOOD to make some progress and have some cleared, peaceful space.

It took me multiple passes of decluttering before I was happy with the outcome. In hindsight, I wouldn't buy back any of the clothes and linens I got rid of.

Lovely to revisit with Mama-April and focus in a little - I always think of all the projects your Mum will do in the time she's given herself by having less stuff to caretake - more time for doing which is where Mama-April's heart is at - that's her passion. I have that shawl! My mother made it for me and I have it in my hope chest. It didn't mean as much to me when I put it in there as it does now. My mother passed unexpectedly last year and all of the crocheted things I have are precious to me now. Maybe one day I will have a granddaughter that I can pass it on to for her to play dress up, but until then, it is staying. Let's bring handmade shawls back =)

You aren't old enough to know him, but maybe your mom is, but seeing you empty the closet reminded me of Kaptain Kangaroo emptying his pockets. He had everything in there and what was in there never seemed to end. 😄 Love how you broke this down into sections!
