Can we all agree that these kitchen drawers are so dreamy? ...and what do we think would work well in all the jar inserts?

With labeling, the jars could hold spices, flour, corn starch, etc. Don't see graduated measuring spoons in the drawers. Would not put the plastic cutlery next to the detergent pods.

The jars don't seem very airtight and putting any kind of spices or powders in them could become quite messy. I think your original plan for elastics and spare change and that sort of thing was a better idea.

@@SpaceMakerMethod The detergent could deposit on the plastic covers. When you pick up the utensils, you transfer the detergent to your hands and then to the utensils. You would then risk ingesting the detergent.

The lids aren't transparent so if the jars don't contain something that Eunice uses on daily basis she will just never look inside and forget their existence! You should definitely label the top of the lids! Maybe salt and sugar would make sense.

I take the cutlery from delivery to my workplace. It gets used fairly quickly. I also try to avoid getting it in the first place. Some restaurants let you opt out of them in their app. I always opt out when I make my orders in the restaurant (to go) because I hardly ask for delivery.

@@GenauishI never said it’s easy everywhere, I just gave a suggestion since not everyone knows that you can donate things like single use cutlery. No need to be so defensive over nothing. Also from what I know they live in Seoul - a humongous city and a capital, which I’m sure has a lot of options to donate to. But even if they were from a smaller city, as I said it’s never too bad to mention and educate others just in case someone doesn’t know. You can’t assume everyone knows about everything.

Thanks, I've published before adds about single-use cutlery on a resell/donate platform, and a lady took a whole bag - she uses them at workplace, but publishing requires effort and energy, which I rarely have. So you gave me the idea to ask a homeless centre whether they have the use for single-use cutlery - that would be a less of an effort for me, yet it has never occurred to me myself. @@wellhello1603

I think a lot of new and remodeled kitchens are replacing lower cabinets with drawers. I was trying to figure out why American cabinets were ever built like that anyway as some old kitchens (before built in cabinets) actually had bureaus in them. The only thing I can think of is the Hoosier cabinets from about 1890 - 1920’s had lower cabinets.

I love Eunice and missed seeing her! Love her kitchen and all the drawers. I have pull-out shelves behind cabinet doors, but think large drawers may be more convenient. Although, the shelves are adjustable and that's been convenient, too. It's difficult to design a kitchen. You're doing a great job organizing. It'll be so much easier to keep the kitchen clean and organized with your plan. I agree with Eunice about keeping the counters empty. It's much easier to keep clean and tidy. Hope she'll make an appearance in the next video. Take care, Linda 🦋

I have several protein/collagen/greens powders for shakes. The canisters could provide quick, elegant access and just tuck away the main larger canisters as refills. You would want to keep dessicant packs in them. Or, if smaller powder canisters fit the holes, use the pretty glass ones for something else.

Eunice is a visual organizer. Not sure if this organization will truly help as she expects it. Having everything in drawers and close doors seems counter intuitive. I believe everyone can get organized, and this can look different for everyone.

Also yes she's busy and did some stuff herself, but if you don't do a lot of decluttering, you won't get used to it. April's mum for example is now decluttering all on her own bc she gets it now. Eunice should seriously consider her shopping habits, but also take the clutterbug quiz. I don't think April knows about it but it would help greatly, especially here where you can see that they just stuff everything away. Just bc April put it in a nice container now doesn't mean the problem is solved. And that doesn't even account for Eunice's partner, whether you follow clutterbug or not you have to admit that him maybe having a different organisation style is gonna throw everything off too.

Hey guys, these drawers came with the apartment, as did the drawer inserts. Her request was that she wants to keep as many things behind closed cabinets/drawers as possible in this house, so that's what I'm doing. This is her organization style request. To have everything out would go against her wishes AND would stress her the F out (as we've identified with her). I think it's a little unfair to criticize her for the disorderly drawers. They just moved and things were all thrown about. Yes, it would have been better if she was here to declutter, but she wasn't. It is what it is, but I was still able to organize what she had and I don't think there was any clutter left. Sure there were duplicates of things, but that's normal for everyone after first rounds of decluttering. It will take her time to use all these up and and now that she knows where they are she won't accidentally buy duplicates. Slowly with time, her stock will change, but this takes time and patience. Lastly, this video was filmed from our declutter earlier in the year, it wasn't a new film. That's not your fault for not knowing that..it's mine because I've taken so long to get these videos up and I apologize for that. :) With that said, it may appear to you like her kitchen has gotten out of control again when in reality this was just after moving. And now it's been many months since filming and it appears that she has been keeping things organized. (yay!) Unlearning and learning new behaviors in your house takes time. It's also scary to allow someone in your home to let them film all of your darkest, messiest secrets and then show them to thousands of people. Without people being brave enough to show that bad parts, there would be no content for you to watch. I hope that everyone can keep that in mind when watching and be more encouraging to those brave enough to share their clutter with us and encourage them to keep going.

@@SpaceMakerMethod Sorry to Eunice if my comment made her feel attacked. I sincerely don't judge her not anyone for being "messy" (I put it in quotes because whenever we do anything, we move things around, so is normal to have things out of its place for certain periods of time). Life is though and we aren't taught about organization or life management, so it can be hard for many if not most of us. As another commenter mentioned, I believe she would benefit a lot by learning about her organization style. From what I've seen in other rooms where she has made major improvement, she seems to thrive with visual resources.

@@merrivideoI somewhat agree with this thread, I can see both sides. I do think she doesn’t know her organization style as from all the videos I’ve seen she struggles with putting things back and using things if they’re not visible, therefore not existing. While she thinks organized means all tucked away, so it looks nice and clean.. I was 10000% the same way, I never put my shit back and don’t remember what I have. And although i decluttered most of my stuff, my things would never end up where they came from and always pile on countertops, tables, chairs etc. This year I realized it’s because I need things visible and soooo easily accessible, it changed my whole life. I now opt for open shelving more and only keep items that are visibly beautiful to my eye, that I can display, in very small quantities, because I hate visible clutter. But I need to see it to know I have it. Ofc not everything can be out in the open: for cabinets and wardrobe I only put things into transparent boxes/organizers, no lids, no stacking, no folding, and never put items behind another items in rows, as my brain won’t register there’s something in the back, as well as I’ll be too lazy to put anything back there. It needs to be easily grabbed and thrown back. If I would need to shuffle, stack, reach, it’s not gonna work, only 1 step rule works. I notice I don’t tend to buy as much and remember clearer what I have since I discovered this. When I want something, it’s easier to say no to myself when I see something cute that I don’t need, because I instantly remember how I would hate to have clutter in the open sight and that better get new parfume or a mug after I free up that space. But I also agree with April, she does exactly what her “client”/friend wished for. It’s not fair to do what she wants in someone else’s house. In the end I do think it would be worthy to talk about this and figure out if it will be easier to stick to cleaning habits if things would be more easily accessible and if visible organizing style would suit their family better. If not, then it’s her house - her choice!

It’s okay, people need time to rethink their habits and be able to battle them.. Rewiring your brain is not an easy task, it’s normal that it would take 5-10 years to slowly transition. Imagine your doctor says you can’t walk the way you do anymore and need to teach yourself to walk backwards from now on, you build that habit and muscle, while your brain will fight you because it feels unnatural. Also people relapse from time to time, I have decluttered my life to perfection and was never into shopping, but lately depression threw me out of the loop and I have to rebuild that habit again, very few people can keep their places maintained at all times. And although I’ve been minimal for a long time, beings messy is usually the main problem, not the amount! Some people are amazingly tidy having houses full of collections and stuff, others can struggle with only 20 items to look after, so trying to battle both hoarding tendencies/overconsumption and not being able to keep things in tact is a long journey, so no need to be judgmental.
