truly incredible! I cried.... that's how amazing you are! I'm an artist, but have done pencil art all my life, now I want some color. Nobody appreciates pencil art so I want to move on to acrylics. I never knew you could use those mediums all together. I really appreciate your vid! Thanks a bunch!
@artiene8715 жыл бұрын
thanks for getting back to me. a few months ago i came across your videos and i started painting with acrylics for the first time because of them. glazing is building up thin transparent layers of paint to create the color you want, the colors underneth influence the color you apply on top.( ex if your first glaze is yellow and next glaze is red, you get an orange that is more vivid then if you just mixed them.) used also to add slight color, in dull areas. anyway your a great artist.
@Battlehammer8916 жыл бұрын
I admire you incredibly ! I can't even make a decent splash of color with acrylics (my color painintings with acrylics look like the work of a 5 year old...) yet you replicate a photograph with extreme detail and you make it look so easy!!!

Jesus Christ, that's so awesome. I'm not saying that digital speed-painting is easy (in fact I can't even comment on that because I haven't tried it yet), but I do think, that a real speed-painting is a lot harder to do than a digital one. All I wanted to say is, you've got an enormous talent, so KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!! ;)

I think one has more talent to do a painting 'freehand' such as this one... with paintbrush, pencil, etc, than digital paintings,. This type is much more original and so very good.
@Momilio716 жыл бұрын
don't worry man with this one everyone will aknowledge your awesome skills. I'm the type that doesn't sketch, like you, just a question of habit as i have drawn like this from the beginning. But i can't obtain such a realistic effect on my drawings: i say BRAVO!

Wow. Amazing. That is painting! The ability to recreate what is real... I think takes so much more talent and skill than covering up that lack of ability with painting 'effects' like impressionism and the like. I paint a little, but it looks like paint. Yours looks like it could live and breathe.

She looks like Tanya Harding. It is pretty amazing that you can get all of the proportions correct right off the bat like that. I've seen several people do this on YT and I was wondering if it's a trick of some kind. To start with the eye and build off of that so that the final product is correctly proportioned and balanced is a rare skill that I have only seen demonstrated on YT. I mean even if you were tracing that would still be an impressive result.

@FowlerSarah199112 жыл бұрын
I've found this too. Everyone gets so mad because I do not draw them or what have you. It's insane how defensive people get when you paint them and they see the flaws that can be more pronounced when you draw/paint them. It's a lovley painting, I am just starting to sink my feet into this medium. I am scared because of how quickly this medium dries, as I'm used to using oils.

The trick to starting with the eye is to make sure you have the eye in the right place. Form there, it is just a matter of accurately measuring out proportions- using the eye as the measuring tool.

@IamShyChi - Light brown can be hard to get looking right - My suggestion is remember that skin is all layers of colour; so for example, you could do a layer of orange in the shape of the exposed skin, then layer it with a creme wash (so that's paint watered down) then layer with purple-wash where the shadows will be, creme wash again, layer with green-wash where the highlights will be, then spong on (or dot on) a redish-brown-wash, then creme again, then a wash of the closest brown. Try it. :)

Maybe you should have laid something under the picture to prevent messing up your table... Other than that, amazing. Truly inspiring. I personally never seen a lapsed acrylic painting before, and I'm going to have to say wow... it looks like that stuff drys as fast as you put it down (except for when you really throw it down). Looks really tough to work with. Congrats.

I'm not too sure about this, but I think it's possible to dilute acrylics with (odorless) turpenoid (Weber is a good brand) or mineral spirits. Both of those are paint thinners, and I know a lot of oil painters use that. I believe it can be applied to acrylics as well.
