I want to start this message off with a huge "Thank You". You steered me in the right direction and I strived to be the best revolver shooter I can be. I cast all my own bullets and reload, so I can afford to shoot the hundreds of thousands of rounds over the decades of my life necessary to give me the skills I now have with my wheelguns. I'm sure you don't remember this, but the first time I ever saw you shoot was when I was a teenager and you did a demo at the Springfield Armory Bicentennial up on Mt. Tom in Holyoke, MA. I was lucky enough to shoot with you on some steel plates after your demo and it's something I've never forgotten. You drove me to be the best revolver shooter I can be. I regularly shoot IDPA using one of my 2-1/2" or 3" Smith K-Frames and always outshoot most of the pistol shooters. Thanks again!

He didn't mention it in this video, but you can see it. After pushing in the release all the way Jerry pressures the top of the cylinder, not the bottom, when opening it and lets it roll out naturally. When closing the cylinder he just closes it with minimal force. He doesn't try to spin it closed or anything like that. It saves a lot of wear on the cylinder stop notches and proves that you don't need to abuse the revolver to be fast.

I really appreciate Mr. Miculek's sharing of this technique. This was the way I was taught "back-in-the-day." Only we were using HKS speed loaders which added a couple of nano-seconds to the reload but I was still fast enough to surprise my SWAT instructors during training days. It also surprised my partner who'd already made the transition to the Beretta 92's. I was less than a heartbeat behind him on the reloads. . . Still, 15 rounds vs. 6. As a civilian nowadays, we generally can resolve a situation without the 15 attorney-tainted loads in modern firearms. . . .
