This is really useful. It's a great video but I ended up here by searching for warmups for speed training specifically. Your comment let me get straight to the bits I needed to use. If OP sees this, if you literally just copy paste the comment by @handinugrohosetiawan5803 into the video description it'll add the chapters to your video.

Thanks for the final comment on being kind to yourself. Just did my 3rd marathon last Sunday and it didn’t go to plan. GI issues had me make a bathroom stop at the 11km mark. Ended up 3 mins slower off my PB. My wife had to remind me that the the 2nd half actually was a half-Marathon PB for me. Sometimes the overall disappointment takes away from the wins. Something Iam working on. As for the beard, if she’s as wise as my wife…I’d say trim it lol (meet her half way)

So to sum it up: Distribute your speed work with in the week. Do it on a lighter day after and easy run or after a short or medium duration threshold session. Make sure to warm up by running easy for a 5-10min and by do activation or drills. For eexample a it could be 4 strides up hill (65 75-80-90 in effort) after an easy 5-7 mile run. Similar approach for doing additional strides after a threshold session 6 strides of 100 m with increasing intensity after 3*5-10 minutes threshold or tempo running with 3 min rest. Recovery 5-10 easy running walking then strides.

Great video. Do you have one on how many times you have to do a particular workout to get adaptations? Us mid pack runners work on week schedules normally. How does putting a faster long run in every second or 3rd week work? I get doing a workout every week getting adaptations, like you mentioned jack in this vid doing 2 months of speed, but how does something like a faster long run occasionally work? Thanks for the great content. 👍👊

I used to play a lot of sports growing up and was always one of the fastest so it shocked me when I realized I've lost the muscle memory for sprinting and I can't barely go under 16 seconds over 100 meters without wobbling now😂😂😂 knowing I ran a 13 second 100m in middle school. So I started working on it and doing exercises like 12x200m and 10x400m repeats hoping to get some speed back and work towards breaking 20 mins in the 5k.
