Speed Triple service - Eccentric chain adjuster remove & refit

Removal of the eccentric chain adjuster, on a 2014 Triumph Speed Triple.
also measure and adjust the abs air gap.
This procedure should be the same for bikes 2011 - 2020, it could be similar
on other bikes, with a single side swing arm.

Is it correct if I use a larger sprocket in the front the low speed (10-20kmh) jerkiness & throttle snatch goes away?

Very good video. I have a 08 Sprint 1050. Probably do this when changing rear brakes. How often does this need to be removed and cleaned out. I remember something saying every 4 yes??

Just watched this, great video...my 2011 Sprint GT 1050'a eccentric hub seems to have a maximum and a minimum position, like I cannot tighten it enough, chain is still slack and the hub appears 'at its max'...is this normal ? looking at how its made it should turn freely one direction or the other without stopping one way or the other right ?

ouch!! - definitely not a good idea to use a wire brush on bearing surfaces - both the eccentric hub and axle??

why?

@@notamotorbikemechanic because they are machined, smooth surfaces with tight tolerances. If you use a wire brush on the axle where it bears on the needles, you will inevitably accelerate wear in the bearing by creating imperfections in the surface. I suspect it is better to accept the minor imperfections in the cleaned surface than abrade with a wire brush - just my thoughts

We are all entitled to our opinion, personally I can’t see it causing any harm. It’s a copper brush, so very soft. But as I point out on all my videos, I’m no expert. Thanks for supporting the channel 👍🏻

as long as the copper brush only removes dirt and not Alloy I don't see a problem.
