This brings back memories. I played a ton of DK64 when I was 10. I somehow managed to get 101% because I had 201 golden bananas. While you're inside the main island, there's actually a secret section where you can get into one of King K Rool's rooms, where one of the cutscenes takes place.

Only n64 game I owned that I loved and yet couldn't beat. For some reason I got stuck at a set of doors that required some sort of special coins to enter and I got the one for some absurd amount of points on the spaceman mini game then could never find the second. I don't know if that was an extra or part of the game but it effectively ended my run of it.

Know how one of donkey kongs bananas on frantic factory is to play the original donkey kong arcade game? Once u get that you have to play the game again this time on a higher difficulty then u get the second rare ware coin. It's absurd but pays off I guess :/

It is a frame perfect trick, but since it is at the very beginning of a run it is easy to restart the entire run if you fuck it up. Since he did this live, he just kept going instead of restarting the counter after messing up the memory bug in the start menu. It was probably just approx 10-15 sec at most he lost I think.
