Over the holidays, I placed an impulsive order for a Farish N scale Gronk and a few two-axle wagons (tanks, hoppers, brake van). It's somewhere in transit over the Atlantic from Rails of Sheffield. Completely unexpected and unplanned, and definitely the result of the article in your 'Art of...' book about the venerable Class 08. Now, you've posted this wonderful video which has eliminated any possibility of buyers remorse. I can't wait! Thank you, James!

That is truly wonderful news! You will NOT be disappointed - apart from with the factory fit N scale couplings!

@JamesHiltonCustomModelRailways In fact, the order also includes a 10-pack of Dapol magnetic replacement couplers, so any NEM factory rapidos will be swapped out straight away. Not that knuckles are prototypical either, but I know that I don't have your skills -- or patience -- to form and fit N-scale DGs.

Absolutely love videos of this layout! I think we all need a Paxton Road layout as modellers in our lives, to have those relaxing sessions pushing some wagons around. Superb! Thanks James! 👍

Thank you, glad you enjoy the layout as much as I do! It should feature in February Railway Modeller I am told, and of course in the first Model Railway Companion.

Your DG couplings look good and appear to function really well. Though, they are a little fiddly to make the end result must have pleased you.

Thanks Peter, yes well worth the effort for hands free (mostly!) operation and massively improved appearance!
