It seems pretty easy to access and make changes. It seems too easy to fuck things up but if you have a good copy before making changes I imagine ur safe.

I totally agree with you 😎 I have around 40 tune files (almost one for each "step" on my tune) to be safe. The HPtuners website has a stock file repository with 06, 07, and 08 I5 H3 files, which is a nice fail safe, too!

@@H3Humper it sounds pretty easy. I'll have to check it out this coming week. The $100.for the credits needed to.do my Vin seems all worth it. I just plugged in a scan gage and it looks like my throttle never hits 100% open. It caps at 85% so I'm sure I'm missing some power there. I replaced the throttle body a few months back and I guess it I not calibrated correctly. Can we modify that in the software easily?
@H3Humper3 жыл бұрын
@@automotivedistributors9708 Sounds like a plan. 😎 I think your throttle is probably opening to 100% at WOT because many manufacturers (including GM) misrepresent the TPS% due to a wrong calculation being used for the reading. A quick way to verify 100% throttle is to have the key turned to "on," hold accelerator all the way down (engine off), and visually inspect the throttle plate. Quick change options we could do over the weekend would be tire size (speedo correction), DFCO (slightly improved mpg when coasting downhill), speed limiter, VATS (if wanting passlock disabled), downstream O2 disable (if running w/o a cat.), & adjusting transmission shift points. Tuning for power includes MAF scaling, volumetric efficiency tuning, and spark timing. All of those consume a lot of time, gas, and driving at a wide variety of speeds and loads. Something I'd be down to do together in the future if time permits but it is a tedious and distracting process, unfortunately!🤓

Do you have to buy credits when doing this?

Hey Tony, yes, credits are required for any changes to the PCM using HPTuners.

I am not sure on any system providing such a display of information. If you find one, please let me know!

Damn maybe I need to do that. I swear truck says I can go 110. But I've only ever got to 95 then it wouldn't go no faster. I assumed its a governor in which prevented me from going top speed. Like it would choke if I tried to go any faster. Not choke as in turn off but choke as in refuse to go faster.
@H3Humper3 жыл бұрын
You should! What you are describing is adjustable! :) It's called the "speed limiter" and the PCM cuts the fuel off at that speed (factory setting). The adjustment in HP tuners is quick and easy to increase! I'll do a video on it soon.

@@H3Humper oh wow I've been trying to explain this and no one knows what the hell I'm talking about 😆. But you knew exactly what it was. Before anyone ask. No I was not racing. But sometimes in Florida we have bridges. Some of them depending on the day and time. Its just you before rush hour. Going up the bridge I sometimes have a need for speed 😆. I floor it until it does that choke thing and prevents me from going over 95 lol. It's my daily so I'm not trying to break it or hurt it. But yeah I like to open her up at times. Crazy part she drives alot better afterwards. I either go on long trips to achieve the same thing or if I can't. I take a ride on the skyway bridge. And ride out. Then slow down because once you get on top cops be waiting for you lol. I digress 😆 anyways I'll be waiting for that video.

Sorry, I don't understand your question. Can you try restating it?
