Just so everyone is aware, this is by far the most complete and in-depth dive into Titanfall's plethora of tech and skips that's ever been done in a format like this. Tomato spent a TON of effort and time with me making sure all the details were correct and re-working the script where needed... and we didn't even cover some of the other niche tech! Just big ups to Tomato for his dedication to accurate and informational content, he's the best.

Just in case folks are new to the channel and don’t know what “Coyote Time” is: The name is based of Wily Coyote and thus, the cartoon trope he made famous; floating in mid air when you are clearly no longer on a surface. So for the gaming term. Coyote Time is when the player is no longer on a surface yet the have a brief moment to put in inputs that can only work while being on that surface. Like how Wily can run on air a few seconds before falling. An input that he can only do on the surface he was just on yet he continues to do for a bit. I hope I explained it okay. I’m not a speed runner so the terminology isn’t in my normal vernacular but I tried. Feel free to correct me or elaborate further.

"What happens if you...?" "Speed boost" "And if you...?" "Speed boost" It's Titanfall 2 all inputs and circumstances other than W on the ground lead to speed boost if properly executed somehow.

Fun fact, they are made in part by the fantastic animator hyper, whose KZbin videos you may have seen but never associated this game’s animations with his work.

@@fransegval8528 yep. Most of his recent videos are parody reloads, but if you go back through his catalog you can find a video with the animations he did for TiF2.

this might be one of the fewer games, where if I actually met a speedrunner in an online lobby, I would be doomed. Seriously, these speedrun abilities look like actually skillful gameplay mechanics, that could help in regular online gameplay. Thanks Bryon!

As someone who learned how to speed run this game from bryonato (even tho i still suck at it) it made me really happy to see this come up in my recommended, and see that bry helped you. Absolutely amazing video!

I love how most of the time our narrator is serious and explains in the utmost detail only to then do a 180 and start goofing around with the player, did not expect to be learning about a section one second only to be betting on a robot fight the next, love this channel

A lot of the movement tech used here is also super useful in the multiplayer, especially slide hopping. I also didn’t know about NLDJs, but that sounds like a great skill to learn.

That moment around 1:03:45, I felt that. I felt all of that. I know that path one has to take to be able to say that, but also share in the triumph it comes from. That’s the words of a person who has a dark chapter in their life, but got to the other side and never let it hurt them again. It takes a special personality and support for a person to break through something like that, yet coming out of it not corrupted with hatred or loathing, but enlightened with the ability to turn that darkness into unending compassion. You didn’t just survive, you took the pain and used it to forge a better world.

The amount of time and effort that had to go into a video like this is staggering, and the short talks on mental health were a welcome treat, I recently started taking an anti depressant for my mental health and to hear your affirmations was a joy, you sir have earned a subscriber.
