I like the idea of bowser party, i think with how it works the car mechanics aren't a detriment since its co-op survival. I just wish there were more minigames. It's a shame, we probably wont get another bowser party gamemode because it's trapped in a lackluster game.

They need to balance it out- junior being allowed to do a re-roll every single time someone does a low roll is definitely really broken. Other than that, I think there’s just some minor balanced tweaks to remove, but that particular gimmick I think it makes the game 10 times harder. But it’s still a blast! I actually had a lot of fun playing with it and I would probably have more fun if it was fair.

SMP Jamboree's trailers have some footage of minigames with a giant Bowser, much like the Bowser Party ones I don't know whether Bowser Party is making a full comeback but it's neat to see that Nintendo does know its potential

Fun fact! Bowser party is the only game my dad ever rage quitted. We played this once when I was younger (I was Bowser, dad and my sister were the Mario people), and Dad actually yelled that this game was fucking rigged and stormed off. When we were about to go into sixth grade that fall. Yeah Mom did not take that well lmao 😂 Mind you, he’s not the swearing type during Game night, the rest of us could be super mad at the game and he’s the one that usually tries to calm us down.

same, I didn't have a Wii U growing up so this and 3d world playthroughs raised me, it's why I like this game so much. Now that I'm older and have Superstars though I can see the car only really working with bowser party, but nintendo needs to give this game a remaster not just a port. (To me it would kinda be the same except now when you choose mario party mode you can select either classic mode or car mode)

Of course the "soulless" one has a bunch of really neat gimmicky shenanigans including playing as the man himself, Bowser! I can definitely see why people hate it however, lacking minigames(?), linear boards, the 4 are a single entity on the board rather than being individuals, such a cool game all the same however and would love to see it return, although I'd also love to see the pet battle thing return so maybe I just have weird taste :v

I think Mario Party 9 is worse. At least 10 brings back 2 VS. 2 minigames and it has boards that use the rules from the first 8 games even if you have to have amiibo for them, and DK is finally playable again after 6 games.

I used to have this game but lost it for some reason a few years ago. I also used to use my Mario amiibo there (it was the amiibo that gave a Mega Mushroom in the original Mario Maker; I now use it for Smash Ultimate). But I grew up wanting MP9 but getting 8 instead. Now I think 8 is better (I also have the DS game, all 3 of the 3DS games and Superstars)

I think the biggest problem with this games is the boards removed any semblance of strategy. And we all know the most fun thing is doing your best on mini games and losing everything to a random dice role. I love Mario party 8 cause its boards give different ways of playing the game there is a linear one, a maze, a train which was semi linear, and the hotel map. I loved the linear one cause it was all about getting to the end as fast as possible to grab stars. So if you know which spaces did what it gave you an advantage. Like do you wanna pay for a dolphin ride or save some cash to buy thrice dice?! Adding some decision making to a party game makes it more fun since it’s not just waiting for things to happen even if its out of your control in the background giving the player at least the illusion of agency and choice makes for a better game
