I saw some of those greats at kings Lynn in the 60s my parents worked at the stadium so I was able to get in for free and walked amongst them in the pits .

Interesting no Aussies. This was the Golden Period where Speedway was HUGE in Australia, where all 6 major cities had their own tracks, and they raced on Friday in one city, then Saturday in another. There was lots of money around and we had all classes of vehicles run at each event. From the Solo bikes, to the Sidecars, to the TQs to the Midgets to the Old Hot Rods, to the Production cars, to the big V8 Super Modifieds. Going to England wasn't a big deal back then. Ah the good ol 60s and 70s.

Yeah mate, there is, and his name? Barry Briggs!! At least, I'm certain that, that was how it spelled.

@@frenzalrhomb6919 He is a New Zealander. Sort of 1/2 Aussie. In those days, there was much more money to be made staying home and racing in Australia. There was no real glory going to Europe. After all, we taught the Poms how to do it.

@@kramrollin69 NEVER refer to a New Zealander as 'sort of 1/2 Aussie'.

I attended the 1967 World Final. It was not a night of exciting racing. Bengt Jansson was the best rider on the night.
