the cam bearings use to spin in the cam bore shutting the oil to rocker arms , if you cut a grove in the cam bore it does not mater where the hole in the bearing is located!

I remember sourcing a pair of these at the local Ford dealership for a 54 F100 . My Dad thought I was nuts for paying $60 dollars for a pair...........

I have a 292 I built from the ground up, and used a few parts I acquired from Speedway. One thing that baffles me, is that aluminum valley cover. It has no provisions for an oil filler tube or a blow by tube/ pcv valve.

You also missed the other failure prone part in the 'Y' block, the oul pump/dist. shaft drive. It was prone to snapping off. I had that happen so at the time I replaced it woth a Milodon after market one,

Neglect? Why don't you guys make a few bolt-ons for the Studebaker V8? Club members are taking it on themselves to make manifold runs themselves. There is NO aftermarket except again, for a few getting Chinese distributors made.

Do a youtube search for "deepnhock". He has been adapting Chrysler 318-340 series small block intake manifolds to fit. Also built a supercharged 289 for drag racing.

Hey, great video. Got a question for you. I have a 1959 Edsel with a 292 Y block. It has the stock Ford F-2 two barrel carb and it ran just fine until a couple weeks ago. I’m 17 and restoring this car in my backyard and I’ve got a basic understanding of how these old carbureted engines work but I’m a bit stumped on this one. I rebuilt the carburetor last year and it ran decently until just recently. The battery is good, the fuel is good, the fuel pump is working and the the jets are spraying. It’ll turn over but it only fires if your pour a bit of gas down the carb first and will die within a couple seconds. Not sure what to try next. Any ideas? Thanks

If the accelerator pump is spraying when you pump the pedal you should be able to keep it running. It sounds like you are running out of fuel which likely could either be the float is stuck not allowing fuel into the float bowl or the fuel pump is not supplying fuel. Unhook fuel line and crank the engine being careful not to spray fuel all over. Stick end of line into container or jug to confine fuel spray. If you are pumping fuel then disassemble carb to determine if float is stuck or jets plugged. It could even be the fuel pickup in the tank.

I have a 55 Ford with a Lincoln Y block with the original rams horn manifolds. I believe these were available on the C and F 750 series trucks 1952 and up came with the Lincoln Y Block. They LOOK identical, but are the dimensions a bit different?

Look at the mounting flange. Ford ram's horns mounting holes are straight across from front to back. The Lincoln rams horns mounting holes are angled about 45 degrees or so off horizontal at each port. So yes they do look identical at a quick glance but will not interchange.
