I have a Speedy and even my wife has one. We both normally carry one in our vehicles or our Go Bags / Travel Bags. We have never taken a trip (Work or Personal) since being introduced too them without having one of us have one with us!

Thanks for sharing; I agree. I have my own speed with me either on my body or in my Tahoe and now my wife has her own Speedy she keeps with her and takes to work at the Floral shop. She can sharpen knives as well as Scissors for work. She loves hers too.

I bought one it’s a great sharpener but there is a learning curve with using the sharpener once you get it it’s like riding a bike !

I bought speedy sharpe a leather strap and I’m good to go out here in Los Angeles I don’t have time to start a fire make coffee and look at the moon while stum my knive through five different stones and just say that’s how my great grandfather did and that’s I do it and that’s the only way he’ll know if you got all day to methodically sharpen then good for you

I bought a 24pk of cuticle pushers and cutters. When they arrived the metal was very full and thick, so I've got to sharpen them all 😩 I've tried so many different sharpeners and going to give this a try. I'll be back after it comes and I use it 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Wish me luck please 🥺❤️❤️

I was up in ND power plant and to far to go get my stone and stopped at the tool crib and asked Ken the tool crib manager do you have a stone to sharpen my box knife as I was doing high voltage terminating. He took my knife and the Speedy Sharp Sharpener with a couple of swipes it was sharp. Ken said he got his at a bait store in Bismarck,ND .Well we all went down and bought them out.. Plus Made In USA!!! I own 4 Speedy Sharpener now..Great Product!!

I hate the Company is no longer a family owned company, owned by the original owners (Tool & Die Company) They sold it off a few years ago and the new lady jacked up the price for dealers and also the retail price and you never see them on sale any more. Every time you turn around, she is turning up the price again and this is bad business!

I work high voltage in Maryland, substation maintenance. We keep these in stock in it tool crib. I always give the Hawkbill a few swipes before a transformer it breaker install. I love it

Yes, It matters which way you hold the Speedy. One way Sharpens and one hones the blade only.

I used it on my Benchmade BugOut regularly and I used it last weekend on a customers Bench Adamas and he loved it. Also just used it on a CobraTec D2 Steel Auto, Kershaw Folder and bothcustomers loved it too.

I bought the speedy sharp recently. previously I use a honing store with a slightly tough side and smooth side to debur. How do you identify the carbide edge? I don't see any markings on this to identify this? Touching the speedy sharp does not help. Ideas?

Follow the instructions on the video and you cannot go wrong. One side sharpens and the other debur's.

I would say follow the video and then follow up with fine sharpening stone for a fine edge and it will work. I have never seen it not work.

The angle at which you sharpen is very important, the wrong angle can dull your knife like it did my machete.

If you are sharpening a knife , the shaving are not worth collecting, however saying this use outdoors or on a hard surface floor where you can sweep up what little shaving you might see. It is not like you are peeling off metal or having flying sparks like a belt sander

To be honest, I do not live in an area where we have ice skates but I do not see why you could not. What do you normally use to sharpen ice skates?

@@EveryDayPreppersUSA We've never skated before and so we bought some used skates to try out the sport. I was going to get them sharpened locally for $6 a pair but then I thought about my Speedy Sharp. I tried searching online and had a hard time confirming you could sharpen skates with it.. let alone find a video showing how to do it. I finally found an ad stating you could, so I sharpened the sides of each skate blade (skate blades are really square shaped so each blade has a left and right, sharp edges), de-burred each side.. and it came out beautiful! I would have filed that axe first and then achieved a really sharpnedge with the carbide tool.

I notice Speedy Sharp is not best for a multi-tool like Swiss Army Knife or Leatherman because you don't have equal clearance on both sides. I think SharpNEasy worked much better for multi-tools.

First, there is no reason you cannot use Speedy for a multi-tool or Swiss Army. You can get in there with practice. Plus Speedy can be worn around the neck or on your keys. If I was to suggest something else I would rather use a Smith's Pocket Pal or Pocket Pal X2, which I also own and travel with on a regular basis. From what I have personally seen, people that complain about Speedy generally have not given it an honest try and practiced with it for very long. You have to watch the videos and watch others use it and then experiment with and you will find, it works great!

The only bad thing about The Speedy Sharp now is that the parent company sold it too Fetzner Company they do not care about their authorized dealer, nor the agreement the parent company had with the dealer that built the brand. Pam Fetzner has screwed over the dealer each year after taking over Speedy Sharp by raising the pricing each year so high that many dealer, like us can no longer afford to stay as dealers / retailer. Fetzner wants to get the retail price so low while raising the dealer cost high to out price us as authorized dealers putting us out of business. There is no markup with us even being dealer for us any more and she also refuses to keep in stock the colors we want that were best sellers for our company while raising our cost per unit and MOQs. We were forced to stop offering them. While Speed may have been the first to offer this style sharpener, there are others that created a great copy. Follow the directions on the video and it works! Testimony after testimony shows time and time again it work. You have to follow to directions and do it the right way. One directions sharpens and one way hones and knocks the burrs offs

@@EveryDayPreppersUSA I believe it works. I just can’t seem to get the angle right or maybe I’m not using the right side. I’ve watched a video multiple times. Maybe I’m pressing too hard I’ll keep trying. I just got it today so I don’t have much time with it.
