@@grutarg2938 that was what I was going for, the perfectionist in me actually wanted to use a single analog lever on each corner of the cube, but it would have required a lot of redstone to process it.

You could also use a Bane of Arthropods sword for this awesome farm. Silverfish are one of the few mobs it's good for!

The previous iterations were definitely a lot more complicated and I had to really limit myself. The 6 detectors (3:40) could be reduced to just a single analog lever, but it would result in a complex mess of redstone with signal strength comparisons.

I will say the anvil moving around in the cube kinda adds a really cool sound effect. The clank of it landing just really fits, just seems like it makes sense that your moving cube would make a clank kinda noise when it finishes its rotation.

Only problem is it damages the anvil when it falls, so it would just eat up his iron like crazy over time.

@@lasercraft32 You can get iron renewably from cobblestone (Tango's factory already does this, in fact). 31 iron every now and then really isn't not much of a problem at all.

I believe silverfish are considered arachnids in the game, so if you enchant it with Bane of Arthropods, you could potentially end up doing even more damage!

Arthropods (the biological category that contains both arachnids and insects, and silverfish are insects), not arachnids

the nicest thing with the silverfish farm is that, as far as I'm aware, they're the only hostile mob in the game that both does not phase through blocks and drops nothing other than XP, meaning you don't need some complicated system to keep them in place and you also don't need any way to store the drops.

If the sword is specifically for farming silverfish you should swap it to Bane of Arthropods since that enchantment applies to Silverfish

BoA doesn't work for the sweeping attack which is what the farm depends on. Sharpness does affect the sweeping attack as well as the direct attack

For the cube: you could make a cube out of scaffolding or water that you can swim through to stop any fall damage while the cube is rotating. You could also add some pressure plates at each edge that rotates the cube in the direction you are moving so that you can walk into a wall and turn that wall into the floor

Fun farm idea with these silverfish: sculk. You stand under the farm, on a stone floor, you hit the silverfish, then something (maybe some rogue silverfish, maybe something else funny) kills you and the xp you drop makes sculk. Then you respawn back in the room and resume. Inefficient, but unique. I've never seen a suicide both sculk farm before.

You can use the teal nether vine that grows from the bottom to prevent entity cramming. It should (hopefully) stop them from getting stuck on top and they should (hopefully) all fall into the one spot.

A tip about windmills: the SU you get for the size is exponential or something. It's optimal to have exactly 2 stacks of sails on each windmill, for 8192 SU at 16 rpm. Steam engines are still better though.

If you use a deployer on attack mode, you can automate the process. Add a filter for the xp nuggets and the swords when they are almost broken so you can use the xp from the farm to repair the swords and put it back into the deployer.

Of note with Clumps - it messes up the Mending enchantment a bit, at least it did last I used it. Basically, the issue with the two is that with it, the Mending enchantment uses enough XP from each clumps orb to repair 1 durability on the item and the rest goes towards your regular XP, and as the mod causes there to be fewer XP orbs, the repair speed is incredibly slow. This may have changed, however, as the last version of it I used was on 1.16, and I stopped using it over this.

If you use a twisted vine at the bottom you should get the silverfish all at the bottom without them landing on top of the vines. you might have to be careful you dont hit it with the sword, but that's what the armor stand would do

to prevent the silverfish getting caught on the vines you can use weeping vines instead (the blue nether vines), and just snip it with shears so it doesnt grow upwards

And here I thought Rubik's cube made my head hurt, Zed's cube makes me seasick! Since the Broom is being used exclusively for silverfish and maybe spiders in the future, Bane of Arthropods might help out. It's obviously a bit overkill for silverfish as you seem to schwack them all in 1 shot anyway, but there is no other kill like it!
