'Big Brother' is already here in Europe, at least in Norway where I live. We can still use physical money but it's become more and more rare. Most people pay with their plastic cards. You should do a video on how the Hispanic population is driving a lot of the US coin market. I've worked at a coin shop my friend owns for a few years. In our area in North Georgia, probably 50 percent of our customers are Hispanic. Their culture is very into collecting coins and stacking precious metals
@Spegtacular Жыл бұрын
A few Spanish countries were/are under a dictatorship and/or communist regime. I can see them stacking metals as an attempt to not be under full control of their government (the monetary system). I traditionally stack bullion at the best prices I can get,, bars and rounds. Used to buy alot of eagles also bit they are overpriced these days. However when spot price and premiums get too high, I take a break from stacking bullion and focus on numismatic coins and go back when spot and the premiums go down. I find it the best for me personally because I want to have both. Coin collecting isn’t dying. There are more and more people attending coin shows. However having said that, the coin collector has to know when a coin is going to cost to much. I’m in Canada and rarely buy from dealers in the U.S. due to the exchange rate, shipping, Canadian customs duties and taxes. For instance I purchased a reference book on Roman Republican Denarii a couple of months ago from a numismatic book seller in California. The book was $45, the shipping $55 U.S..The exchange rate was 33%, then I paid customs duties and taxes which brought the final amount to just over $150 Cdn. Because the book specialized in a specific area in numismatics I felt the cost was worth it.

Coin collecting isn’t dying. I used to wonder about the lack of young collectors myself until I figured out that (unlike me) most coin collectors don’t start collecting until they are much older…perhaps when they inherit a collection from an older relative. I used to always be the youngest collector at shows…not anymore.
