Spektrum DX9 | SET UP Custom Voice Call-outs for Telemetry, etc.

Is it me? I have just found this video (10:37 long?) which is just what I am looking for, but the picture and the sound are out of sync by about 40 seconds. eg The commentary describes the vario at 0:42, the picture shows the vario being selected in telemetry at 1:22, 40 seconds later, the sound track seems to be missing the first 40 seconds. Very odd, and very difficult to follow!

I have noticed this on a lot of videos, especially older ones that I have previously edited in youtube editor. Basically youtube wrecking old videos because of some change or bug in their system. I have seen this problem for about a year now. Last time I saw this vid it was fine and I have not watched it again but I don't doubt it. Only way for me to fix it would be to revert to original and re-edit in the youtube editor but that is dangerous, sometimes it breaks things further doing that.

Thanks for letting me know. I have reverted to original, and will try to re-edit later. Once it is reverted to original in a few hours or maybe a day, it will be the original uploaded version. But I used video stabilization effect when I originally uploaded so I won't be able to do that again since you tube deleted it.

@@bwxmoto perfect, you're a gent, what service! So many "gotchas". I had missed double pressing in "telemetry", and your bonus tip of double voice on the same switch. This is going to make my new model first flight a lot less stressful.

@@simonbaxter8585 If I had to mess with this Tx again I would definitely need to refer to my old video here! LOL I have not flown in a few years. But another thing I never mentioned is that you could use just one 3 position switch for voltage, altitude, and temperature for example. Just assign those to each position on a 3-position switch and then you free up 2 other complete switches for other functions. I had them all spread out on different switches this model because it's just a 3 channel plane with no extra functions except spoilers. 👍 Hopefully this video will be fixed in a few hours but it might be longer. I think when it is reverted to original it will be longer than it is now at 10:37.

Definitely helped me out bro. I just fitted my AR9320t into the XL and setting up the altitude and vario callouts was not covered at all in the TX or RX docs. The RX docs and packaging don't even mention it's got an inbuilt vario, lol.

Thanks for the double voice action on one switch advice brilliant... I've done this by mistake in the past but after watching your post ...realized it's worth utilizing that method to a flight mode switch to call out Low Rates, Expo, and Mid Rates, Expo and High Rates,Expo thank you I'll definitely do this on my DX9...Also just a quick TIP I have my Log file recording setup to my throttle cut switch so I definitely record every flight and turn it off at the end of each flight...plus I also habitually check the fades and holds at the end of every flight BEFORE turning off the DX9 ...This way if for any reason I GO IN with the plane I'll know if I lost RF signal?👍also with the newer AR637T receivers you can plug you telemetry sensors directly into them no need for the T1000 anymore 👍 Thanks in advance

Your welcome! I had the Rx for a year before I figured that out about double voices LOL. Yup putting log file switch on throttle cut would be good idea. I do not record a lot of times on some flights though. I had the AR6600T installed in my Radian XL for a while but had really bad range on the telemetry for some reason so I went back to trusty old AR400 and TM1000 at least for my Radians which I used to fly pretty far away. For a closer distance flight those all in one Rxs with telemtry work just fine though.

Nor Cal oh ok, yeah an AR6600T and vario is all you need. Or you could use AR400 and TM1000 + a vario. Personally I would use a TM1000 and Vario even though it might be more expensive in my experience, it works a lot better.

Yeah it is very easy to set it up to tell you on a timer. You can set the timer interval.

1:15 set up "status report" on the screen to however many seconds in between automatic call outs you want.

I think any telemetry rx will do.. Or a TM1000, but I had an AR6600T in there at the time. BTW I don't like that Rx.. telemetry range is terrible compared to TM1000. Not sure what thy have for telemetry Rxs now but the range was bad on that one and I took it out.

I come back to this video when I’ve forgotten stuff. Spektrum needs to make the voice events rearrangeable. It’s really a pain to redo all of them. For my kids I have B set to “Safe, high rights” then “AS3X, low rates.” If I had all 8 slots filled and messed one up and start a new one, it will say “high rates, Safe”. ….just as an example. So then I have to redo almost all of them
