Thanks for the video Tom! I get a lot of holds on my Comscendo Evolution. At one point spectrum even sent me a new transmitter after they saw a copy of my flight log. But I am still getting the holds. However, I think I know what’s going on. The holds are location-dependent, meaning in certain patience I get a ridiculous number of holds in other locations I get virtually no holds. I think the issue is Wi-Fi networks. I guess the whole problems when I am flying near houses or office buildings. I don’t get really close to them, but maybe within a few hundred seats sometimes. I have seen proof that home Wi-Fi includes the 2.4 GHz band. What confuses me is that hardly anybody talks about it. For instance, I would think that in a video like this, there would be some mention of it. But nothing. Am I going down the wrong path?

Quick Hit Tech Tip: Do one on setting up dual rates using a 3 position transmitter switch where the rate varies with each switch position. Another useful video would besetting up flaps where you use two servos, one for each flap. Show us how to adjust pitch with each flap setting using a 3 position switch (1st position - flaps up, 2nd position - flaps in T/O (15 degrees), and 3rd position - full landing flaps (35 to 45 degrees). Looking forward to more great teaching/learning videos from Spektrum!

Tom great video and very helpful. Have you ever had a range check issues with spectrum receivers with safe software? Are there differences between safe receivers and standard type receivers as far as range issues go?

I had 1200 fades in a taxi, takeoff, pattern n land today on a brand new ar631 today. Range tested fine, never lost signal as far as I could see. Even did a two person range test at about two city blocks without loss of signal. Should I be concerned?

Thanks for a very informative video! I just purchased and started flying a Night Timber X with my iX12 radio. I keep getting “holds” every time I fly, at random times (beginning of flight, high, low, on the ground). Typically one hold per flight, but yesterday I got four holds in a single flight, which is distressing, as the plane goes into failsafe at potentially dangerous locations (close to ground) for half a second or so. I use the same radio to fly my UMX Turbo Timber with no issues, so I assume this is related to the Night Timber X. I have tried to relocate the antenna to stick out under the wing, but no change. I have also tried to range test with no issues. Appreciate any advice, as I am reluctant to fly my Night Timber X with this issue unresolved. Thanks!

I am having problems dx6 g3 on my gas engine aircraft with the loss of one went down in failsafe with only 359 fades and flying towards the landing strip had two holds never got control back just a couple of right hand dips of airolons that I was trying for but aircraft was in failsafe and crashed. Second aircraft 35cc tailor craft I did 5 circuits getting farther away each one just keeping my eye on the fades and holds all looking good I was on down wind to land and Got a hold but managed to get landed I have not flown since. As I don't think it is safe. 😭

Really good video, I learnt a lot. I have the new SRXL2 AR6610T receiver along with a SPM4651T for my remote receiver in a 700 heli. On the flight log screen on my DX8g2 I'm only seeing a value for the 'A' receiver but no value for the 'B' receiver. With running two Spektrum receivers why is there no 'B' value being populated for the SPM4651T?

I seem to average about 125 " fades " per 5 min flight on my brand new HH T-28 BNF ( yellow ) ( Rx factory installed ) ....and have also received some " holds" ....I have done a range test and it passes....I always fly with a fully charged Tx ( DX8 gen2 ) and LiPos.....I have also contacted HH via email support ...........what's my next step?...also wish that HH offered on-line real time tech chat support, as email responses are taking days and days in between questions.......going to fly today ,as Spring weather ( Chicagoland area ) is iffy and got to get in some flights when I can................thanks
@SpektrumRCvideos2 жыл бұрын
125 fades is nothing to worry about but holds I would look into. Sometimes you can cause holds by turning off the transmitter or even going into the system menu (which turns the RF off) so I would make sure that it is not self induced. Hope that helps!

Your own manual for the 637T says 100 frame losses per minute is ok. So that would 1,000 in a ten minute flight, not 100. Which one is it? And please ffs STOP TAPPING everything with the screwdriver.

Um, duh, if you have an "H" or a hold, your aircraft is in the ground. The whole objective is to PREVENT holds, which means positioning your antennae properly.
@SpektrumRCvideos4 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, Holds can be as short as 1 second, sometimes pilots do not even realize it until they check their flight log. But yes it is very important that antennas are installed propperly
