I just got a arrma typhon for Christmas. it came with the s155 charger and a spectrum 5000 50c battery . what’s the difference from 30c to 50c ? & Also I programmed it to put the batter in storage mode in 48hrs . Does that mean after 48hr of no use it will store , or it’s 48hrs in total even if I’m using it ? I just don’t want the battery to catch fire or anything

Great question. I typically store my batteries around 3.8V per cell. You do not want to store them at full charge.

Caution !! I updated my G2 smart battery using this charger and it turned the software back to an earlier version that requires a balance lead to be able to read the battery properly. I cannot find out how to reverse this so I have to assume I have somewhat destroyed the battery for the longer term. The charger should have recognized the G2 software and not allowed me to "update" the battery, but didn't. I can still hopefully use the XBC 100 to balance the cells, but the auto start no longer works on this battery and I have to manually start the charge. Nor can I adjust the time to storage voltage either now.... So be careful guys !!

Newbie here, Interested in the S155 G2 1x55W AC Smart Charger. My question is about charging a non smart battery using the S155. Seeing the S155 doesn't have a storage charge option to get the battery to 3.8 volts for a non smart battery what would I do to get the cells to 3.8 volts if the voltage is lower than 3.8? Would I have to visually monitor the voltage and pull the plug when it gets to 3.8V? Is there a way to get the battery to 3.8v using the XBC100 Smart Battery Cell Checker and the S155? Appreciate your help.

The XBC100 would only balance the cells, not necessarily at storage voltage. Getting the cells back up to storage you could just monitor the voltage and stop the charge when you get to 3.8V / Cell, getting them down to storage voltage I would look at a dedicated discharger. iSDT has a couple of really nice discharge devices.

I have a spektrum battery issue that’s got me stumped. First, I purchased a S155 & a few G2 batteries to see how the system works with my new NX10 after watching your video. My issue, if the battery isn’t absolutely fully charged I get a reoccurring alarm on my transmitter saying “Battery Not Charged For Flight” and it keeps sounding over & over. I’d like to turn it off because sometimes I’m changing settings or foreword programming with a partially charged battery and the warning interrupts the process. I’d be grateful for some direction to the setting in this area.

This is a feature of the telemetry and battery monitoring of the smart ecosystem in the model. Not an issue with the battery, charger, or Tx. With the model powered up, you will need to go into the telemetry settings I believe for the smart battery and inhibit the alarm for start voltage.

@@TheRCAirMarshall got it 👍🏻 Mucho thanks. Overall the NX experience has exceeded my expectations,I’ve only hit a couple minor sticking points. Your forward programming video did speed things up, I couldn’t find any literature on that subject in the manuals.
