I agree that it is dangerous to charge a 2S lipo pack without the balance lead function. If one of the cells is overcharged, it is a fire hazard for sure.

I love spektrum don't get me wrong, but the TX16s radiomaster is one to rule them all. The fact that I can bind to almost any brand that flies. The dx9 is awesome though

you would only be charging it via Ballance type charger listed to charge that battery. otherwise you will damage it have a fire and or shorten the life of the battery

Wish you ran the tx16s it's by far the best radio available hands down, great video brother. And you should know any transmitter battery under 20 is usually a turd. Found this out twice name brand all day on batteries

Don't buy any batteries from spectrum they are horrible. There made it the cheapest factory known to man in China. And I've disassembled the packs. They are not made to quality. They are horrible and many people have crashed their airplanes because of spectrum batteries. If you call horizon, they want even give you any specifications on the batteries. It's like a secret and they know. There's a problem with the batteries and I don't want to but anything about it Max packs makes replacements for all spectrum radios. We've been running them for years without issue.

Why doesn’t the original Spektrum battery have a balance lead? Could it be that the Spektrum battery pack has a circuit card in it to prevent either cell from being overcharged? Is it safe to charge a 2S LiPo without using the balance plug? Does the cheap battery you bought have an over voltage circuit in it? I wouldn’t charge the cheap battery in my transmitter.

The original Spektrum battery is Lithium Ion. The replacement battery is Lithium Polymer.

@@graemebrown8851 A Li-Ion is safer than a Lipo. All the more reason not to charge the cheap battery in your transmitter.

i have an nx8 i bought the spektrum battery pack. when it need replacing ill buy another spektrum. I WOULD NOT put the cheap Chinese batteries in my nx8 its like putting a vw beetle carb in a porche makes no sense. Better to spend a bit more to get quality then to risk blowing up an expensive TX

DO NOT DO NOT PUT THIS BATTERY INTO A NX 8 !!!!!!! The nx line up uses 1S battery this video is on 2S And the spektrum wrapper is around the Chinese battery

The Spektrum web page for their 7.4V 4000mAh 2S LiPo transmitter battery says, "The 4000 2S LiPo offers long flight time, as well as advanced safety and features. It includes a built-in safety current that shuts the battery off, to avoid overcharging and damaging the battery and radio. Plus, a built-in balancing system ensures you get the longest life and power from your pack." I think they meant to say "circuit" instead of "current". Does the cheap Amazon battery have that?
