Dixant that is not Alap. Alap is the introductory part of the Raga, and it is not accompanied by percussion at all, only taanpura.

The word you're looking for Puneet is taan. That is a very nice taan

Its not alap its called vistar .

I think that is nibandha alaap which is different from mukta alaap which is played without percussion instruments. It is not taan as it is not fast movements of notes,but slow.

I never expected to say this, but Omkar bhai's rendition may even surpass Rashid's. This is high praise indeed, I know. The most beautiful part of Gwalior is their badhat vistaar. Putting a taan segment while is very good and a sureshot way of getting public interest is not the greatest way to showcase Gwalior gayaki. Requesting more segments from the vilambit portion of the same khyal. Thank you.
