Spelunky 2.5 Added a mystery egg and I'm stumped

I MUST PLACE IT ON THE MOAI HEAD ALTAR???
This is a mod, what a plot twist! It's more of a remix than an update, and it adds a ton of variety to the runs. It's real fun stuff, I want to explore the whole thing. Thanks to TommTamm for the big work.

Last time I played, when I got to the Tide Pool, there was a message, something like ''the king has arrived'" and 3 Kingu's spawned almost overlapping and moving up and shaking the screen and I died instantly 😅

Honestly, Spelunky 2.5 is the most unique mod ive ever seen for spelunky 2. it takes spelunky 2 and turns it on its head with the same formula, but so much more. Thinking, i cant really say another spel2 mod that's better.

I have noticed that the mimics have an idle animation. They shudder intermittently when they are undisturbed.

On an earlier version of the mod i put the eggplant idol on the alter, i had tons of favor with kali and the description was more vauge in warbing against kali favor. When i did my game crashed 😅

Everyone is saying Kali but Tiamat screams at you when you enter her chamber, right? And the description does say you have to hold onto the egg for a while. Tiamat is my guess.

Yeah probably destroy an altar and it hatches on the next level. Or maybe more unlikely one would be having one of Anubis mega attacks to hit the egg.

Yeah I've been playing 2.5 for about a week b/c of these videos (good job) but I gotta say the documentation of what 2.5 actually is is pretty awful. No wiki reference for items or a changelog could be found when I gave it some effort after install. Still fun, but pissed that I'm clearly missing things that should have explanation.

Look, I get the intent, but I'm not going to pretend like it's satisfying to go 30 runs before I realize what the radio even is or how to get it when I see that broken crate at the beginning of every run. Repeat that for every other new change and I get the feeling that the game is wasting my time, not providing me with mystery.

I agree. I find even more fun than the base game but MAN would a bit of documentation go a long way. With the variety of things you can find, it can take literal ages to get a secret or something
