I've 2 cats, 1 is 6 and the other is 2. The older one definitely knew about the baby before he was born, she'd sit close to my wife a lot and now she'll come downstairs and have an eye on where the baby is. The younger one is a bit more skittish with him. He has grabbed at them both and both have been very patient with me or my wife getting his hand off their fur. I'd never leave my cats alone with the baby but I certainly trust them to not hard him when they come close. If for any reason Alex and the baby stay in the hospital and you go home then take some clothes that the baby had on and leave them around the house for Joey to smell.

With dogs, my current dog is a pure family dog and is actually scared of hurting my nephew so is as gentle as possible, however I don't think I could trust a dog around a baby since when my mum and dad had my sister, they used to have 2 dobermans who had never had any issues with anyone, but one of them started laying next to my sister and would growl and go for anyone going near her unless it was my mum, sister or nan. They took the dogs for a check up and told the vet and the vet, said it was the first sign of a dog turning and the dogs primal instinct was to protect my sister until he chooses to attack so they had to get the dog put down. So the dogs can be fine, but keep an eye on it. If your not sure ask a vet and don't let the dog be in the room alone with them

In the subject of dogs, me sis has a little cross bred pup who’s very loving of the close circle family but is somewhat apprehensive when outsiders approach, she was present during all the pregnancy process, we felt like she was more affective towards my sister but we were worried about what her reaction would be, fortunately as soon as the baby walked in it felt as if the pup understood it all and was welcoming of the new member, I do agree that the baby needs to be watched mainly because babies don’t know what the line is and how little difference there is between a pat and a full blown blast, it can be a lovely experience and I hope it turns out that way!

Everything you have mentioned Spencer my wife and I went through but the only difference being we had a miscarriage before hand so our next pregnancy her measurement was similar to Alex. Every minute upto the point of the birth was scary. I wish nothing but luck and love to you, Alex and Spencer Jr ❤

From what my parents have told me about our dog when I was born, he got very defensive and a bit angry if someone who he didn't know tried to approach me. But every dog reacts differently, I'm sure Joey will be great!

sadly we lost our baby at 6 weeks due to a crazy aggressive tumor. It was tough but i think all these questions were great and like the NHS were great for you guys they were great for us too. It's interesting to see how Covid pregnancies happen. I have always wondered what the experience is like.

God bless you both! Please don't even think of the negative aspects at this point. My sister delivered a beautiful baby boy in May, it was sort of lockdown for us. Nobody from the family could see the baby for almost 3 months. Nothing will go wrong. Don't worry and just remain positive and eat well!

I'm 25, I've been playing the drums since I was 11 and along the way I have picked up the piano, the guitar and the bass, because I love music and I love instruments. I'm a pretty good drummer, good at best at guitar, bass and piano. Today, I do kinda wish that I had focused all my energy in drumming, as I think I could've been a really good drummer by now... Loving the content guys and really excited for your journey as my wife and I are on similar timing to you, albeit with our 3rd child. The due date for our little girl is the 2nd of Feb, what's the due date for mini Spen? I too am debating whether to be in the goal mouth for this one lol. If the opportunity arises I think I might take it as we had to have c-sections for our 2 boys and if we were lucky enough to have a natural birth this time I don't think I would want to miss it. With regards to the dog, we have a Samoyed and they are beautifully natured dogs and we have never had an issue with Snowy being around our 2 boys from birth, we trust her 100%. It's the cat we have to worry about sometimes lol. Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy and can't wait to hear the name (my 2 boys are Milan and Romeo if you need any ideas :P )

I believe being "average" at many things is underated. It makes you appreciate so many things in life, I am very much the same as you Spencer in the sense that I take up hobbies and never really see them through to be beyond average. However whatever skills you learn from those hobbies, it never gets wasted. Knowledge is power and multiple hobbies are fun!

The singing thing is definitely not genetic! It is entirely dependent on what they are exposed to. Like shaping a clay or something. Make them practice the keys from early age and they would be good that is of course if they are interested.

So the question about joey: before i was born our family had a dog (much bigger than joey) and all the focus of the family was on him. But after i was born the families attention went to me obviously and he hated that. So he hated me and if i was anywhere near him without any adult protecting me, he wouldve probably attacked me. So we had to be really careful. But then he started hating any kid he saw so he had to be put down unfortunately. But he was a more aggresive type of dog and i havent heard anyone else have that happen to them. So i think that its gonna be fine with joey

Two things. I've found that my son's interests are "one click" away from mine. I like comics, he likes Manga, I play computer games, he prefers switch. Be prepared for at least a bit of variation. Speaking of variety, I find that kids really like when their parents can do a bit of everything. Think about times where you've thought, "Damn! I didn't know pops could juggle!"
