I would have been interested to see the security footage of the dam collapse

Michael Asebedo Exactly. I am in Calif. - appreciate that the fires here are started and maintained by technology that most do not even know exists. ( Directed / scalar technology - Lt. Col. Bearden) “Forest Fires” here have destroyed concrete. Impossible. What really happened to this dam?

No my interest in watching any security cameras is the progression of the dam failure. I wanted to be an engineer when i was growing up. I am in healthcare and do investigations on occasion.. so i have a curiosity about when things go wrong. @@nanallen1

Imagine if the Oroville Dam had collapsed. This was a tiny dam.

@southern daze You're right. It would cause downstream dam failures as well. I think investment in dam infrastructure and maintenance is money well spent. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJqqZnWCi5eheqs

True that, but the wall of ice released when the dam failed bulldozed the valley all the way down to the Niobrara's mouth emptying into the Missouri. Fortunately, the valley was very nearly uninhabited so not many lives were at risk.

Why does the water look choppy on the left side where there is no discharge? Is it discharging under the water on that side, as well? No gates are open there.
@johnortmann30982 жыл бұрын
Just waves and turbulence from where there is discharge. The energy propagates in all directions in water.

Didn't the Engineer / Designer took the erosion power of the flood water into account?
@Akcd11r20025 жыл бұрын
I think this flood was something that was thought to not be possible.

this dam was built in 1927 . in 1940 it had a partial washout that was repaired. there were problems with slit filling the reservoir. huge amounts of water were used to flush the silt down stream. that flushing caused problems for fish so less water was used. finally due to many problems electric power generation was ended in 2017. so the dam had reached the end of it's useful life. really just a fish pond but still deadly
