SigmaGhostZero That’s awesome! I certainly wanna give it a go. Most of my life I’ve always been scared to try anything remotely “extreme”, but, I’ve decided to step away from that and find a hobby that is both athletic and semi-risky haha. Back in my day, when using Dia Comp 990s the poll mounts that are welded to the frame were a bit weak and when you squeezed the brakes the chain stay would flex which in turn made for smooshy brakes that didn't stop. So we used to find chunks of roofing tar (usually can find chunks on the side of buildings) and spin the tire as fast as you can hand crank the pedal and rub the tar lightly onto the rim, don't stop till you have a light black coating all the way round the rim. Then some local rider/machinist made brake stiffiners. they were kind of heavy being made out of steel but it stopped the posts from flexing. Pull hard on your brakes and see if the mounting post flex out wards. Brake stiffners make a solid difference and I'm sure they can be made out of Titanium these days and not cost a grand lol. Spencer: if you want to see what the stiffiners looked like I can tweet you a pic of my bike so you have an idea of what I'm talking about.

I can say personally that I HAVE hotdogged myself with a bar end. Riding trails and clipped someone's back tire who was sitting on the side close to the roller section. Turned my bars right into my stomach and pole vaulted me. 15 years later, still have a circle scare on my lower abdomen from bars that I cut with a hacksaw. Use bar ends

Interesting to see you recommend the Tublitos. I have been curious about them for a little while now but worried about durability versus a traditional tube (especially during the quarantine where it's all street and no park riding). Would you say they're as durable as traditional tubes like the Odysseys or were you recommending the tube kits just because of the premium you're spending on the tube itself? Thanks for the daily uploads!
