Every goofball on here saying that Iowa only won because Clifford got hurt doesn't understand Iowa football. They are notoriously slow starters who eventually grind teams down and then jump all over their inevitable mistakes. Iowa was only down one score and your golden god QB had already thrown two INTs when he was replaced. Even if he hadn't gotten hurt, he would've thrown more. Those injuries you were suffering? You know, the legit ones that weren't desperation flops? That was from getting smacked around and being unable to handle it long term. You were always going to lose.

Plus the fact that Roberson wasn't just some random guy pulled out of the crowd. He was a 4-star recruit. Also, he wasn't some helpless 18 year-old who graduated 4 months ago, he is redshirt sophomore (third year student). And let's not forget that Clifford has nothing to do with the Penn State defense blowing a 17-3 lead.

Thank you Hawks...I watched this 3 days out from surgery and you made my Saturday. I had to call my girlfriend into the room after I rewound the play and had her get excited for me. I told her "can you imagine the bars tonight in Iowa City?" Hayden is smiling from on high. Let's f n go HAWKS!!

Petras is for sure the weak link of the Hawks…He did enough to win the game, but he needs to play better. 57.2 QBR and 60.7% completion. I wonder if Ferentz is limiting the playbook for Petras, but from what I’ve seen from Petras and heard from other hawk fans He seems jumpy and needs to let the game come to him. I hope he can get better.

Its all about momentum. Also gives them more room on the field to waste clock and have the opportunity to reset the downs. I see what you're saying but if you look at that brilliant route by Hawkins, especially after that previous stop on 4th and 3, it's hard to call it a mistake.

Sean Clifford stays in the game PSU wins pretty easily. PSU plays 2.5 quarters with no offense and half a dozen injuries...and Iowa still doesnt overtake them until late in the game.

was 17-10 at the half and Clifford had thrown no TD's and two Int's, nobody knows for sure but Iowa has been great at making adjustments all season. Either way Iowa won and clawed back from 17-3 at one point to win the game against the 3rd ranked defense in the country and last time I checked Clifford only plays offense.

Agreed. Penn State was moving the ball at will before Clifford got hurt and I perceived they were the better, all around team. Credit Iowa for being opportunistic - but their defense isn't as good as the sports media makes it out to be. Just saying.
