I'm calling it, This will be spurs best season ever in this era. They have a solid squad and Mourinho in 2nd seasons always overachieve and are always the best out of his 3 year stays. Predicting they will win your 1st trophy in a long while this season whether itd be EL or FA cup or even at worst even the carabao cup which would still be great. Whether bale plays alot or not you gotta admit he's a bit of a trophy magnet as well tbf lmao.

@AndreiIleanu4 жыл бұрын
Sorry for another long comment, but as a life-long Real Madrid fan and constant reader of Spanish press (Marca, AS, Cadena Ser, El Chiriguito, etc...), I think I do have an explanation about WHY the Bale situation turned out the way it did. These publications always share interesting insights from deep within the Real Madrid hierarchy so I think I might have put the pieces of the puzzle together. Zizou has never been a coach in the way Mourinho or Guardiola are, his focus is mainly on the man management side of things and the harmony within the locker room. Managing Real Madrid comes with INSANE pressure from not only fans but also the upper management. Zidane is an excellent MOTIVATOR for a star studded locker room and he proved that 3 years in a row by winning 3 Champions Leagues (and also 2 La Liga titles, plus the most successful year in Real Madrid's history with 5 out of 6 trophies won). Players look up to him as a current legend of the game and former player and he in return treats them as his equals and little brothers (this comes from the mouths of players like Ramos, Marcelo, Cristiano, Varane and many others - so I've not made it up). What Zizou accomplished as a head coach relied massively on what Mourinho and Ancelotti did before him tactically. We've seen a way more attacking side during the Mourinho era (when they've also established the record for the highest scoring team in a La Liga season 2011-2012), so Zidane took on a group of players that were already gelled throughout 4-5-6 seasons before they ended up as dynasty KINGS. Why is this important to the topic at hand? Well, simply because Zizou asked Bale to be more socially active within the group. He wanted all players to be as united as possible and that meant on and OFF the pitch. That was "his thing" and he cared about it more than anything else. So, what did that mean for Bale? Well, he had to learn the language first of all (a thing which he never truly accomplished within his 7 years in Madrid) and had to be less of a "loner" - which he also didn't do. A couple of years ago, there was an ad for Emirates with several Madrid players on a plane making jokes about each other. Marcelo used some "english" while addressing to Bale and he actually meant what he said (I remember the Spanish press going crazy about it during that time). He told him something like "we'd wish Gareth learned Spanish". At that point, people with insights in the Madrid hierarchy were saying that Bale had also lost the respect of his colleagues because of his lack of interest in Zizou's strategy of them bonding on and off the pitch. Bale wanted to be that guy who only comes to training, games and then has a private life in his spare time - well, that's not a thing in Madrid, you can't do that there. When you're a Real Madrid player, you live and breathe through Real Madrid - that's why the standards are so high and why so many great players have failed to succeed there throughout time. You're either 100% in, or you'll 100% fail. I'm not sure what was the Club's view on this whole story, but I suspect they were 100% behind Zidane. Ever since Florentino Perez took over Real Madrid during his first spell as a President he had NEVER EVER declared anything "permanent" about ANY player or manager. During the past 12 months he went on about how Sergio Ramos has a life-long blank check from the club and ALSO how he would like Zizou to grow old and retire from his management career with Real Madrid. That says A LOT about how much respect he has for both Club Captain and Manager (who coincidently or not have also been team mates during Zizou's last 2 years as a player). So, just to wrap it up, I believe Gareth has given us his best during his first 4 years at the club, after which his injuries became more frequent and lengthier, so that also contributed to his fall from the pecking order. I was at the Bernabeu for his first match after the whole "Golf, Wales, Madrid - in that order" situation and people were booing him like crazy (that kept on going for probably the next 6-7 games in a row). I actually shouted at people around me to stop booing because he's scored so many goals for us and we owe him some respect, and old people very politely responded: "he owes us respect, because we are the Socios who founded and sustained Real Madrid throughout history. If he played a Champions League final with the best team in the world it was also because of us, so he needs to think twice before he says we are #3 on his priority list, because Real Madrid is #1 for us, not Gareth Bale". So there you have it - an analysis from all possible angles. Not saying anything bad about Bale, because I can't feel the same way Socios feel, but I think I can understand why everything happened the way it did.
