New to your videos and have enjoyed them, seem laid back, good knowledge base, and I myself work out of a small shop so I enjoy any tips on how to maximize the space. However these titles are the definition of click bait and feel unneeded. I get gaming the KZbin algorithm and getting eyes on your vids but it seems like you are doing yourself a disservice and harming your brand. I think I will keep scrolling next time your “you’ve been lied to your whole life” video pops up

We hate them…he hates them… but it’s proven that people click on them more. Nobody hates that they work more than him lol. He begs people to stop making them work. Had he labeled this, how to make a clamp rack, it would get 25% of the views. And since it’s how he makes his money, he needs the maximum number of clicks.
@ajvc2233

@@krisbabic89 I completely get the main issue is with KZbin and its algorithm. And also the need to bait people to click, I think however the solution is a balance between honest titling and baiting. He’s far off into the baiting side and needs to reel it in a bit. Example is a more honest title, and a click bait thumbnail, at least I’ve seen that work for other creators.

I certainly admire your skill and I was drawn to the channel because, similar to myself, you also have limited space to work with. Editing is well done and I appreciate the calm and laid-back tone. Unfortunately, your videos seem to simply be turning into ads and I find myself losing interest. Between that and the click-baity titles I feel less like you're educating me and more like you're just trying to sell me stuff. I get it that you're trying to turn this into a full-time job or whatever.... I'll continue to check in from time to time, hopefully you'll take some of this feedback to heart. Instead of using repeated cuts on the table saw to hog out the slot, drill a hole the width of the slot at the end of the slot then you only have to cut each side of the slot. I think that this would be faster and generate less sawdust. It also would avoid the rough surface at the end of the slot.

While I agree with the person that said “terrible title” I also have to admit that it got to watch when I wasn’t planning to at the time. And this is the first reasonable application I’ve seen for one of those battery things - although I’m currently in a house with good wiring, I was previously in an apartment with only one outlet in the garage like yours. You can’t change the wiring, so the storage unit is a good workaround. And while it is expensive, it is still cheaper than moving!

You can upgrade to 15 amp breaker, the power surge is usually on start up and under abnormally high draw - like trying to plane an inch off a 6-4 maple board on fast speed. I had same issue and even my dad, retired electrician said it was ok - but I did use 12 ga wire. PS_be careful about taking on too many sponsors. Questions come up about quality versus the back of mind (what if I say “ if it sucks”, they’ll dump me) thoughts versus honest/true, buy-once, cry-once purchases.

Selling out - v. [SEL-ing owt]. The act of taking something you like to do and finding a way to get paid to do it, usually bringing derision from people who get paid to do something else but see their pay as honorable and deserved. Ex: “I used to like this KZbinr when he just did woodworking for fun. Now that he wants to make money doing it, I have decided that his woodworking skills and ideas are now somehow lesser. That’s what he gets for selling out.” Alt ex: “That guy was really good at plumbing. Then he started a plumbing business. I really liked his plumbing work when he was just doing it for free. By selling out like that and starting a business, I just don’t like it.”

I am sorry but this was pretty bad. I understand you have to make money with ads, but...not like this. It is not just that you put your craftsmanship in second place to the products you are trying to sell, but you are putting your viewers back there too. And some of us are not that stupid and appreciative of it. Every youtuber tries to sell something, but many do it in such a way where not only do we understand, we appreciate that their focus is on who actually makes them successful. And it is not the sponsors. They will leave when we do. This was bad.

Off-putting title for a piece of adfotainment. It is a perfectly reasonable sponsored video, so don't over-title it. Your little space with very restricted power is your USP to those of us who have similar restrictions. How you work with those restrictions, and the equipment that works for you, is what makes you worth watching and gives useful information. Fyi, I have 21m² main space with side room about 7m². I have plenty of 230V 13A sockets off a garage consumer unit taking 40A off my house CU. So, unusually, I have more power and sockets than a KZbinr. And I can work outside to keep dust out of the outbuilding. But my 'shed' has to house BBQ gear, bicycle maintenence gear, daughter's books till we finish work on her house, garden gear, DiY gear for electrical work & construction tasks, plumbing, decorating

Have to admit, you are far from the first YT woodworker to hawk Jackery, but by far you have the best reason to--that dang single 15A circuit! Brilliant to constantly trickle charge (not technically correct term, but we all get it) the Jackery that in turn can surge-power your table saw and other monsters. Whoever gave you that tip deserves a free Patreon membership or something.

I was thinking something along the same lines - this is the first time I've seen someone who had a legitimate reason to use an overpriced inverter/battery bank.

I don't know if I'm your target demographic, but if you want to add subscribers who are folks trying to do exactly what you are trying to do (weekend warrior going pro) you either need to figure out how to sound like a sincere actor, or a sincere troll-comedian. Because you look like a person trying to act like he did the woodworking. Or you're a woodworker who is poorly trying to comedy. And just another word of advice, I don't think the viewership-potential for troll WOODWORKING videos is huge. But hey, at least you got a nifty battery out of this video, right?

I like to watch your videos and listen to the podcast and you seem like a good person, but I find your video titles super annoying. I understand the need to attract attention with titles and hope that once we watch, then we will forgive the title, but there has to be a more happy medium between informative titles and attention grabbing titles. Maybe something like, "I was wrong about clamp storage," or, "I'm an idiot when it comes to clamp storage," rather than, "I've been lying to you for over a year."

I don't understand everyone harshing the click-bait title. I think it's completely fine, esp since they obviously clicked the video. Your content is amazing, and the clamp rack looks great. Now to save up 4 grand for an electric generator I'll use twice a year.

Ugh. Your purposely vague clickbait titles are the type of videos I normally pass by because so many similarly-titled videos are a complete waste of time. The **only** reason I've watched a few of yours is because of the straightforward titles you do have. But when I open the vaguely titled ones, I immediately skip ahead to see if I even want to bother. I don't do that with makers I'm subscribed to... just sayin.
