Kejetia market is the largest single market in West Africa. It has over 10,000 stalls. We decided to explore this market with $10 to spend.
We started our exploration of the market in the fruit and vegetable market where you will find a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. It was a very busy part of the market. It’s worth noting that there are a number of different entrances to this market and so the entrance u take will determine which side of the market you will end up on.
We then made our way into the cooked food section. They had a wide variety of food on offer here and everyone was trying to convince us to come eat at their stall. They had Ghanaian foods like bank, amps, kinky, Waakye basically every local food you can think of.
Although we did not get food at this time.
I was informed that the stalls used to be organised in such a way that everyone selling one particular thing will sit and sell within the same area. However as you can see here. thats no longer the case. This particular area has a mix of clothing, groceries and even wigs.
We finally explored this area where a wide variety of fabric was sold. There was also a ton of artisans in this area. From clothing makers to bag makers.

My name is Jasmine and I have relocated from Sydney Australia to Ghana in west Africa as of the year 2020.
My parents are of Ghanaian descent and so am I although I was born in Australia. Here on my channel, my goal is to give you a real glimpse into what it’s like to live in Ghana and other parts of Africa, from the food, to the culture, to the lifestyle and everything in between. My goal is to satisfy your curiosity about Ghana and other African countries.
My prayer is that these videos do just that for several African’s in the diaspora.
Follow your bliss because life is short, follow your bliss because human life has no intrinsic value, follow your bliss because everything happens for the greater good and follow your bliss because it has all happened before.

Nice very similar to our market here in Jamaica only much bigger. I always heard Ghana is very much the same like Jamaica only bigger and I love seeing my people and they are the majority not like America and Canada which I'm familiar with. Can't wait to touch down on the motherland Alkebulan and I know other people as well who's wish is to return home. Queen Jasmine keep up the good work keeping us informed much love from Jamaica 🇯🇲❤🇸🇳

Hi Jasmine 👋🏾 I just watched the video with my dad here in Canada. We are all from Kumasi and Asante Region originally. My dad is 82 yrs old and he was shocked to see the ripe Plantain being boiled to eat with stew. He said that never in his life he has seen that in Asante cooking...it's only fried when it's that ripe. He is going to question momma about it when she gets home he said.
