When on a vacation with a little one, I think it’s more than normal to be out of the regular baby schedule. Don’t worry about this, it’s important for the parents to enjoy their time away too, so a few changes here and there around the baby regime is natural ;) and never doubt that you are the best mom you could possible be for your little one!

ANDREA you are a fabulous mom! The best thing you can do is fit the baby into your lifestyle. You didńt leave him behind like so many do. I traveled with my kids since they were 8 weeks old. They will go off schedule, cry and not sleep so well…all ok! He wońt remember it but what he will always remember how much you love him. It is so obvious. No guilt for being off schedule because he is off schedule so he can continue to feel your love and enjoy being nursed by mama. Remember no one in the world, not even Alex, can comfort your son the way you can because only you can nurse him. Thank you for sharing this beautiful baby with us. He looks so much like you! Girl, you’re a fantastic mom. It seemed like you got emotional at the end on the balcony. You’re tired so everything feels just more extreme. My heart hurt for you because I remember those days. I can see things clearly now that I’m on the other side with my 14yr old and 19 yr old boys. Sometimes the best you can hope for is a kid who you managed to get fed that day - especially on vacay.

Just wanted to add that I think a change in schedule every now and then is good for a baby. :) My first baby was on such a strict schedule that when I had to change it up for some reason, he was a mess. My fourth was a lot more easy going because it was impossible to stick to a strict schedule with 3 other kids! Also, a cookie sheet with water for them to splash their hands in makes tummy time more fun (not unattended, obviously). Love seeing you with your baby! Brings back so many happy memories of my babies (youngest is a senior in high school this year!) It goes by in a blink of your eye!
