This morning I am starting my day with my favorite smoothie (which I am going to walk you through in another video) along with some gluten-free waffles! The Van's blueberry flavor is my favorite. I am 21 weeks pregnant in this vlog and my belly is really starting to pop! I have been trying to get balanced meals with protein and fats (typically eating eggs and avocado for breakfast), but Fridays are waffle Fridays so here we are!
I personally love watching morning in my life/morning routine style vlog videos, so I wanted to make one of my own. These are my favorite types of videos...just a casual DAY IN THE LIFE.
Also, we recently revealed that the baby is a BOY! The sex reveal is on KZbin shorts and Instagram reels, but it was really a crazy story! When we got the sex, we were both convinced that it was going to be a girl. We took the results to a local bakery and asked them to make a cookie for us that had pink icing if it was a girl and blue icing if it was a boy. The entire bakery was pink so we had no idea if they even had blue icing or not, but after 30 minutes they called us back in and said that they used M&Ms, if that was okay. BUT REMEMBER: there aren’t any pink M&Ms! We were still both SO surprised when we saw that it was, indeed, a boy!
The baby has really started kicking to the point where I can feel it from the inside and others can feel it from the outside. I always feel him first thing in the morning and right before I go to bed! Something else that’s crazy is that throughout the first 20 weeks of pregnancy, the baby hasn’t even grown past ONE pound! In the next twenty weeks, the baby is going to start to grow and grow a lot more, which is so exciting.
For lunch on this day, I heated up what we had for dinner the night before...which was amazing. I had coconut miso ramen. I followed a recipe but switched it up since the original recipe was vegan and I wanted to use chicken broth instead. I posted a video of my modified recipe on TikTok if you want to check it out (@luciebfink)! It was pretty good, but adding sriracha and sauerkraut on the top made it even tastier!

My husband has a geographic tongue! He has always had it, but a few years ago it got very irritated and our dentist said that it can also happen because of your toothpaste. Basically, anything "fancy" with your toothpaste like tarter control or whitening can cause it to be too harsh. They recommended he switch to super basic toothpaste. He uses plain old Colgate now and hasn't had any problems since.

I have geographic tongue! I have it since I was like 27. I’m 31 now. It used to be really bad, but now it’s much better. I have no idea what triggers it! I’m pregnant now too but it hasn’t been worse. I’m so glad I am not alone. :)

Recommend applying the belly oil first and then go in with the thicker body butter after. For consistency reasons that is a better order for absorbency into the skin! 💗

Unless it’s water-based. Using oil before a water-based butter is worthless because the oil will prevent the water from reaching the mitochondria.

I also always pictured myself with a firstborn boy until I got pregnant and thought it was a girl for some reason until it wasn’t 🤣 it was a boy all along lol. And I agree being surprised is the best! I wish you the best of health and peace the rest of your pregnancy 🤰🏻✨

i also have geographic tongue, but also have a history of mouth ulcers. For me, this an autoimmune issue and on occasion have to use an antibiotic "swish and spit" medication.

I have geographic tongue and I've always had it and it HURTS so bad sometimes ): I've been so embarrassed especially when people would ask me what's wrong with my tongue when I was in the middle of talking. Im getting better about not being embarrassed but people thing its a hygiene issue so its hard to not shame myself. I can kinda relate to the gender reveal story, sorta. As soon as I got pregnant, my mom was CONVINCED I was having a girl. She'd talk to my belly, calling the baby Cassidy and tell all her friends that she thinks 100% her grandbaby is gonna be a girl. Needless to say, she was shocked when I showed her my gender reveal ultrasound and it wasn't a little girl in the picture. I've never had a preference either way, girl or boy, but I'm honestly glad that my first born is a son. I think it's mostly because I have an older brother and I love that family dynamic.

For us we had dreams our first is a girl and my husband had a dream of a little girl and for our 2nd the night before our gender appt i had a dream i was giving birth to a boy. so before knowing the gender for both kids we already knew. Azelaic acid helps with hyperpigmentation so it will help with the acne scars and benzoyl peroxide will make you more photosensitive so please wear sunscreen!! Also my derm recommended using it at night not in the morning for this reason.

As a dental professional I see Geographic tongue in almost 50% of my patients. Most often it is triggered by sour, sugary or spicy food.

I've always loved coffee, but during the first trimester of my pregnancy I couldn't. The smell, the taste, the thought of coffee made me nauseous 🤢 I drank a cup of coffee a day for the rest of my pregnancy. For food, listen to your body and your cravings :) Also yes, I was always out of breath!

I have geographic tongue and fissured tongue since birth and I'm 26 and it's still the same. It's related to allergies and all that stuff so yeah that's a thing, Im also super sensitive to flavors so everyone ask me what's in the food all the time. I have a geographic tongue. I've had it since I was born. It was really bad when I was younger but I haven't noticed it in the last 5-10 years maybe because I'm so used to it or maybe it went away? I don't know but it was always just an uncomfortable feeling, never actually painful.

Ive had a geographical tongue for years now, it keeps changing (growing/getting smaller), sometimes goes away fully but always returns. So i guess you will keep having it. And i kind of like it because its always unique. Oh, and i never feel anything (maybe im a bit more sensitive, idk 🤷‍♀️) but i never have issues with spicy food because of it.

I have a geography tongue and it started when I got older. The pattern may go away sometimes but the sensitivity has not gone away for me. I can't eat spicy foods and citrus. So for example no jalapeno margaritas with spicy salsa at the same time. LOL. The citrus is the issue for me and it feels like nails on my tongue when I mixed the wrong food combinations. My dentist checks my tongue and it's not cancerous and it just makes your tongue sensitive to certain foods.

I would love a video on your thoughts and feelings towards starting parenthood near your 30s. I am 24, not in a serious relationship, and not even sure I want kids of my own. Yet, I feel this internal pressure (from seeing friends getting married and even starting to have babies already) like if I’m going to, I need to get started soon. However, there is still a lot I want to accomplish in my life before I have an entire human being to care for and raise. I’m not trying to imply you are “late to motherhood” btw- that is such personal and circumstantial decision. I’m curious, though, if you’ve battled thoughts like these or experienced pressure to get pregnant earlier. I know you mentioned you were trying so perhaps this is the timeline you always envisioned, I’d appreciate hearing about that too. I think I’d want kids if I met some personal goals of mine first, but I’m not sure how to keep that my mindset and not feeling like I’m falling behind the adulthood bandwagon.

This is a great question! Actually, as I'm currently 29, none of my friends from high school or college have kids yet! I will be the first!! Where I grew up, it is not actually considered "late" to have a child around 30...most of my friends aren't even engaged yet! I understand your feelings and thoughts on this, though...I would try to remember that everyone's on their own timeline!!! 💕

I have been doing pregnancy and postpartum tv workouts since the beginning of my pregnancy! She’s awesome to follow! Another person I recommend is glowbodypt. She has a free prenatal 12 week program that goes until I believe 32 weeks!

You might not even see this comment, but I’ve always had geographic tongue! Supposedly that’s actually one of the many symptoms of Celiac Disease. I’ve been compiling a list of symptoms because I’m going to get tested for celiac disease soon!

So funny story… our NIPT said girl. Ultrasound later said boy. We had a second ultrasound which also said boy. Apparently NIPT is 99% accurate so my dr and the ultrasound tech has never seen it be wrong!
