If you have lots of cores don't buy prisms from the special orders section, buy them from the material exchange one. They basically cost 310 LS (10 cores + 10k Glimmer) this way as opposed to 400 LS via Special Orders and you can buy as many as you want. If you're low on cores you can be buying the 5 cores per day and exchange LS to glimmer so that's 1 prism per 2 days for 310 LS total.

I immediately went and bought like 500 raid banners when the announcement originally dropped. I've since spent like 4k shards on focusing, Glimmer, crafting (craftening flushed my shard & core supplies down the drain) etc. Very annoyed that shards are being depreciated, when enhancement cores are so much harder to obtain. Shards are the perfect currency for this game imo.

I'm not sure if I wanna sit around converting all mine, but I feel I must regardless... Got 317k shards to convert. Bright side is Phantasmal Fragments can be put in vault, and I can store up to nearly 32m Glimmer worth of Fragments. Will never worry about Glimmer for a long time I guess.

If Bungie decides to make it so we can't trade in our phantasmal fragments for glimmer, the community (especially the people who've invested thousands of shards into phant-frags) are going to be absolutely pissed. All that currency saved up, thrown down the drain. I understand the point of getting rid of shards is to get rid of stocked up materials, but there's not a reason we shouldn't be able to invest in some saved up glimmer.

If you're farming prisms or cores, make sure to swap the ghost mod for them for extras.

Just a point: Bungie have said Legendary Shards are Deprecated in season 23, not abolished unless I've missed something. We really need more TWAB info to actually tell us of the economy next season (which isn't far away). Sounds as if you're currently saying 'use them or lose them' at the end of this season.

They’re deprecated because it is a use them or lose them situation. When The Final Shape releases, shards will be gone. All of this is talked about in the 9/14 TWID.

Was at 200k shards, down to 170k now. Bee. Buying an alloy a week for many months. Just been mass focusing weapons to use uo my shards while buying my daily cores. Already have around 2k banners saved, towards last week before final shape gonna spend rest of shards on phantasmal fragment. Waiting to dump them for alloys and cores and incase bungie changes things

Unfortunately way back when planetary materials went away I spent like 3 weeks off n on turning about 50K various materials into legendary shards. Now I have about 30K shards!!!! FML time to get busy …… again 🙄

There are also free quests from Xur that reward 1 exotic cipher which is the alternative currency for those exotic engrams

I made the mistake of burning through all of my legendary shards a few weeks back: buying mats from Rahoul, buying... whatever the moon currency is that you can trade for glimmer to rahool. Then Iron Banner came and I wanted the bow. And I had 20 legendary shards, then spent the entire week trying to farm shards to use with my engrams and to upgrade armor since I didn't have any PVP focused armor rolls. also: after all that grinding and over 50 engrams: I didn't get 1 single decent roll on the bow.

No. I've rarely ever been down for legendary lost sectors. In fact, I've been struggling just to push myself into Nightfall, and honestly I've constantly ran out of cores/prisms even after a grinding session on either of those. Either that or they just do not drop enough that it just bores and discourages me.

Quite literally every single time I go to xur for an exotic engram it ALWAYS ends up being leg armor. Seriously. 9 of 10 times. Leg armor. And that other 1 ends up armor for a different class

I have about 16k shards. I plan on getter my alloys maxed out by season end. The phantasmal frags I have almost 2k. Altars is me go to for knocking out gunsmith bounties quickly.

@@danielheckler imma be real being a "solo player" is no longer a good excuse for not being able to do GM's or raids... it is incredibly easy to find LFG's now and although u may be a bit lost ur first clear theyre are a lot of LFG's made specifically for sherpas/teaching and after ur first or second clear u SHOULD know what ur doing and as long as u arent making mistakes most LFG's will take u with no issues. If ur just shy and u arent comfortable joining random LFG's sure thats fine but dont blame it on being a solo player
