Those specific speakers are shallow mount subs. They don't do well in ported enclosures. They don't have enough throw to recoil properly. A sealed enclosure allows the air to create the recoil to make them sound better by displacing more air. Deep throw subs tend to sound better in ported enclosures because they can displace enough air without needing the air in the box to provide recoil.

$5000 🙄 Did they have you at gunpoint when they sold you that ? Plus those are 12s not 15s. 2 good sundown subs would run you about $1500 and a Orion HHC would have been about $1100 plus $1000 worth of highs and mids, that includes the amp, and a custom box for about $400. Maybe about a $1000 for custom installation. The whole setup would be about $5000 or less and it would blow that setup out of the water. That's about a $1500 to $2000 setup install shouldn't have been more than $300. Tito needs his azz whipped for that😂

The only sundown subs that would equal to $1500 would be the Z series. Even then anything other than the SA’s would require you to have some real strong Amps. And real strong amps require real electrical. A lithium battery and a HO alternator would cost him almost another $2K minimum. Not sure what shops you’re going to but if you’re doing a set up that you listed $5K is cheap for a sound system. Granted you don’t need more than that to have a great one. No point in spending that much on equipment when you don’t have the electrical to back it up

Did you go to Tito with that $2000 minimum estimate😂 You really don't even need a lithium battery, you can just add a good quality battery and be just fine with a HO alternator. It's a daily driver not a sound competition car. He could have even went with Skar Audio and still would have been far better than the system he got. $ 5000 worth of Skar Audio would blow the doors off that Kicker setup.

I love my NSV4 15’s but it takes so much power to get them hoes moving 3.25cu.ft per sub on 10k for the pair, my HDX3 15 in my 6th order on 3k sounds better and gets louder though the NS’s move much more air. Both systems are in a Ford Ranger with 145ah of lithium and 280a of alternator from Iraggi and big three on both the trucks.

@BrowardveeTv Bro, this is going to be a little long but you really need to read this. First of all, I’ve been in the car audio game since 1984. I did my first install on my brothers 73 Charger. Two years before I even had a license and in that 2 years I did at least a dozen. Since, I’ve done at the very least; 100 installs. More I’m sure. I have enough car audio from over the years to open a small store. Shit nobody has. I’m not bragging I’m just trying to paint a picture of the knowledge I have of car audio. I’m not an audio Guru but I know what I’m talking about. You have a beautiful ride. You did it right. With that in mind, you need to do it all right. That install is all wrong. Tito‘s may have wired the stereo up correctly in the sense of everything’s hooked up the way it should be but that install sucks and the way they did it would have pissed me off if it were my car. I’m not trying to down it or them. I’m just stating a fact. I’m sure it sounds pretty sweet but five grand sweet? Not so much. I’ll explain. First, a good installer treats a customers car like it was theirs. They treated yours like you pulled it out of the bone yard. They should’ve covered the trunk of your car before they decided to throw wires and themselves all over your nice paint. Secondly, the first install wasn’t a great one. It needed to all come out. To install the system correctly they should’ve started over again because it’s the only way to guarantee the install is done right the first time. And for the life of me I can’t comprehend why they didn’t sound deaden, at the very least your trunk and back deck. That baffles me. All the wires in the back are randomly crossing everything on your trunk floor. It’s soo sloppy and a great way to introduce noise into your system. If they used CCA wire instead of OFC you got totally ripped off. I’d check that because it’s a fire hazard. Especially when there’s way more wire than needed. All of that should have been separated and routed to an amp rack or a sound board across the back of the trunk with the batteries hidden behind the sound board and close to the amplifiers. All the wires in the trunk were so much longer than they needed to be and that’s actually not good at all, especially if it’s CCA wire. They should have been shortened up and hidden behind or uniformly ran across the front of the amp board properly. It’s all wrong bro. All of it. Those Comp subs are in the way wrong spec box too. Those are great entry level subs. In the right box they hit a lot harder and will sound so much better than in your video. I guarantee it. I can’t believe they didn’t build you the correct box for them. I’m a huge Kicker fan. I know their equipment very well and I personally know some of the boys down at Kicker. Every Tuesday night I’m talking to them during their podcast in the chats. If you emailed them a picture of that box and the rest of the trunk and asked them what’s wrong with this install they’d answer you within a day and tell you the same exact things I’m telling you now. Lastly, Brazilian made full bridge amplifiers are loud as fuck but they are so unreliable. In my opinion they’re junk. Just pick it up and feel how lite they are. There’s nothing in them. What is in them is so stressed out from running at full tilt all the time shit blows in them. Half of those amplifiers don’t last a year of abuse. They should have sold you better equipment for the money. For 5 grand, they should have done you a lot better bro. Had I found you before this install, I would have offered you some practically brand new old school Kicker audio to match your old school ride and I would have done your install provided you paid for my airfare and labor. you would have been looking at a grand or 2 more but your system would have looked 1000 times nicer, sounded a million times better and hit waaay harder than it does now. I have 4 mint Kicker S15D Solo Baric 15’s and 3 mint KX amplifiers in black that would have been perfect for that Caprice. All of it like new and all of it old school like your ride. 100% wired right. 100% reliable. And it would have hit like Tyson in there.

Ported boxes hit harder but sealed boxes hit cleaner. If you have enough power you dont need a ported box. You do need enough space in front of the subs to push the air properly.

He should have been diagnosing the situation. Then he said he was going to replace two working subs in a wackazz box that they already screwed him over for. They then later sold him new amps and what have you. After rewatching I now know he replaced all 4 subs "just to be sure". Now I know without a doubt that they are just taking his money. Reputable people would have diagnosed the problem, then if he's still foolish enough to just throw away his money, then it's on him.
