Man this brought good memories. My parents moved us from San Pedro Projects to Scottsdale in the early 2000s. He was stating facts about having no racial politics in Carson. Being Hispanic and moving there as a young kid and playing football with everyone it never seemed like there was any segregation between Hispanics, blacks, Samoans, or Asians. My older brother had more beef with the Hispanics there and so he would kick it with a lot of the Scottsdale piru’s. I remember “Green Eyez” (I believe that’s what they called him) from Scottsdale Piru because he was our neighbor and another who my brother nicknamed Deebo because he was a big dude and he was always on his cruiser.

We as a culture, people, etc.. need to do better. It's pretty sad. Every video I've seen shows the brokenness in our communities. There is literally nothing positive in being a gangsta and nothing positive to pass along to the next generation. I know of countless deaths because people choose to be about that life. It's even worse knowing of those that weren't gangstas that were killed being at the wrong place at the wrong time. The first change has to be from within.
