I totally agree with you on the saying that "if you take care of your car, your car will take care of you". I do replacements prematurely and never wait for it to break down. The confidence in knowing your car can go further at your disposal is what a car is really for.

What you said about mazda is true, it's very hard to explain it to a non mazda driver why its driving dynamics is just so good. Everything about the car feels intricate and calibrated/weighted correctly, the steering feel, the body weight transfer when at a corner etc. It really has to be felt by the driver rather than explained

Yew, who said that? Its literally the dumbest statement I ever heard about tyres. Expensive tyres does not mean that by default they are superior. There are countless factors that would affect your choice, my driving style, weight and horsepower of my car, wet and dry grips, braking distance etc etc. Remember its always about finding middle ground, as no tyre is perfect. Malaysian Market is flooded with older tyres, that no one should be allowed to sell, along with cheap Chinese tyres with horrible safety.

I am using the stock rim with 205 tyre width. Despite people say 5.5J rim is too small for 205, but I have been fitting them and using them for 2 years down, I still haven't see why I shouldn't fit 205 tyres to original 16inch 5.5J rims... Hope any sifu here can point out

Mazda2 stock wheels are 5.5j width, maximum could accommodate up to 195. PS4 narrowest width is 205, so I had to change to wider wheels

Personally I'm a more sensitive driver, whenever something makes a bit of noise, I must rectify it. These are all wear & tear parts and I don't want to change them when it breaks, I just changed all of them while I'm at it

Hey Spalderz, I have had my Mazda 6 for 6 years now. It did require some repairs and additional maintenance. I.e Spark Plugs. Small Light bulbs + fuses and a light switch replacement. But other than the normal maintenance as you mentioned, the Mazda's tend to be well built. The engine runs very well even at the current age. I think you should be fine, if you take care of your car and don't leave it last minute to fix things. (When the wheel is basically falling off - lol)

Hi Adrian! My mazda 2 sedan is about the same age as yours. Mileage now close to 90k km. How do you decide to change your air filter and absorbers? Recently I changed my brake pad (recommended by SC) without replacing the brake rotor. Now my car is making screeching noise when braking. Not sure if I have to change the brake rotor too.

Air filter I change every 20,000km or sometimes every 10,000km depends on how dirty it is. Absorbers when the damping is not as comfortable and making noises when going over undulations. You should change your rotors too because the Mazda original brake pads are very abrasive which damages the rotors.

@@NihonmelayuMalaysia Yes suspension s can be repaired, its done all over the globe. Only in Malaysia I see people getting surprised about absorbers being repaired. I recently had one of my beemer ones got repaired at Amin Repair Absorber located in shah alam. You can go and have a chat with them, their work is excellent with very reasonable prices.

Lol 750 is too expensive even for service outside. BMW & VW official SC charge 700+ for oil change (15k km or 1 year). That's already outrageous. Don't tell me this ordinary non-turbo Mazda engine oil change is 750??? That's a rip off. Should be more than half of the figures

Depends on your driving needs, I want a tyre with superior and consistent wet and dry grip because I travel long distances alot. Primacy4 was my other option but the Mazda2 is not something I call comfortable so I decided to go for PS4 instead

Strange. Sounds like an alignment problem. I say ‘strange’ because our CX-5 is at 150 k km, and it is still using its original two sets of tyres ( one set is of snow tyres)

I still think that it’s an issue with my car, because the vibration is too strong in my opinion. But there’s one thing I discovered several day ago. When I turn rear window warmer, RPM doesn’t go below 700 and car doesn’t vibrate much. It’s about ECU and electrical load I guess.

In future always do some readup, try to look for the signs of said issue, check for spare parts pricing, visit few workshops but also check google reviews for said workshop, once satisfied only then pull the trigger. What I said might sounded awful lot of work but once you do it, it hardly takes few hours and saves you mostly from getting scammed.

I am not a Mazda owner but as BMW's owner I can assure you, that YOU MUST CHNAGE YOUR TRANSMISSION OIL every 50 to 60K kms. Dont fall for this life time nonsense, unless you want to learn a lesson, the hard way.

Brooo, same for my car. Hahaha. I just rely on the HUD. Asked SC before, you cant repair it and need to replace the whole dashboard. And it will cost you RM2k. So the SC does not recommending it, with that money better spend elsewhere such as your engine and what not.
