But let's be honest handling isn't something that only premium carmakers can give you. I live in Germany and get to drive all the manual transmissions the carmakers put in their cars. The best ones for me are the 6speed Toyota, 6-speed Fords, 6-speed VW and 6-speed Mazdas on number one. Mercedes makes horrible feeling manuals way to wobbly and emotionless tho relatively easy to shift. BMWs are super hard to shift which I don't like, not notchy in any way but especially when you shift to reverse it feels like there are 2 tons trying to pull the stick back to neutral.

The difference in mileage is because of the cvt....and the slightly lower mileage is a very acceptable sacrifice for the far superior driving experience that the torque converter provides.....Mazda's skyactiv engine is far technologically advanced and more efficient than that of the corolla and that helped to narrow the gap alot...If Mazda's engines were on the same level as that of the corolla...the gap could have been Alot wider ...that's why all the automakers are using cvts nowadays....but mazda managed to use torque converter and still achieve nearly the same fuel efficiency and this is engineering at its best !

i have a 2021 Mazda3 Turbo PP sedan that i bought summer and i love that car maybe a few things i don't like but it's more nitpicking if i really had to point out negatives about the car. one of the main reasons i chose Mazda instead of it's competitors was the transmission option... NO CVT!! glad Mazda is one of the very few car companies that still offer regular auto transmission

Have a 2020 Mazda 3 premium hatch! Love it, have no problems at all mechanically. Though, it definitely doesn't do amazing over the insane potholes here in Pa and I have multiple interior rattles from many parts of the dash. Honestly though it's perfect other than those minor things.

Take it in to get the rattles fixed before your bumper-to-bumper expires. Rattles are covered under the 3 year/36k miles warranty.

I call my 2008 Mazda3 a clunk bucket lol because every time driving down the road it clunks underneath like crazy very loud idk what is it & mechanics I went was no help either. One mechanic said I needed to replace all 4 shocks plus new breaks and rotors idk if that’s related to the clunking noise though. But the car does runs & drives beautifully, very zippy.

I had the same problem on my 07 mazda3 . I replaced the motor mount and it got rid of the issue. Pretty easy fix and it's only around 50$ for a new one from what I remember.
@jamesmedina20622 жыл бұрын
like this other guy said make sure you check and possibly replace the 3 engine mounts with genuine Mazda ones. They are good but can wear out. Also not the shocks necessarily but the control arm rubber bushings. So check those. Shocks are wear items but probably ok. Mazda genuine shocks can be found for cheap on Ebay. But get the part numbers from Mazda dealer first before searching.

I have been driving a 2021 Mazda 3 for two years. What an amazing car to drive...smooth, quiet, powerful with superb handling. I am baffled, however, by the incessantly repeated complaint about the C pillar reducing visibility. It simply isn't true. It looks as if the reviewers can't find anything negative to say about this car so they resort to the visibility complaint. Do they ever have this complaint about the VW Golf, which also has a large C pillar?

Updates on the GR Corolla: it does have the engine from the GR Yaris, but it was upgraded to 300 hp, it has 6 speed manual only, and it's all wheel drive. As standard it has a limited slip differential for front wheels, but as part of the optional performance pack, it can also have it in the rear. It even has a manual handbrake.

5:56 Just a 2L... And to think here in Japan we just have 1.2L and 1.8L models. But it's understandable given the ultranarrow roads and especially the aging population. Even in a scarcely populated area where I live you go driving in midday you always get stuck in a big row because there's a pacecar at like 25 mph driven by a granny.

I got the 2014 Mazda 3 brand new with the 2.5L engine. It’s done 120,000km still runs and feels like new. The only thing is that the suspension is less stiff than before so it doesn’t feel as sporty as it used to. I also had rear brakes that were seizing which were replaced under warranty. Other than that, no issues at all not even considering replacing it as it doesn’t feel like a 8 year old car at all

I have Mazda 3 hatchback from 2003, made in JAPAN (In Europe and Japan first model was in 2003) and I love it. From mechanical standpoint there is nothing wrong, everything is working fine, engine doesn't take any oil to this day (gasoline 1.6). Manual trans is very good, precise steering and handling on the road. Only paint is weak and metal parts/body panels must be protected from rusting, but nowdays this is common in most car manufactures. Overall I'm content with this generation of Mazda. I will try to stay with Mazda when I will be looking for my next car. I consider Toyota as well but their prices are higher.

I own a 2018 Mazda CX-5 for close to a year now, not had any problems from it and really enjoy driving it. My only gripe is that my leg hits the center lower console at times, but it's not that bad really... I'm seeing a lot people drving Mazda's lately, so they are slowly gaining market value and become just as popular as Toyota's.

We just got rid of our 2008 Mazda 3 (barebones basic trim). Manual transmission. Over 200,000 km, no major mechanical issues, no rust. The only reason we got rid of it was because I was in an accident, and wrote it off. Wife has a 2020 Mazda CX-5, and I replaced my wrecked 3 with a brand new 2021 Mazda 3 turbo AWD. It has been amazing. I also owned a Mazda RX-7 back in the day. Mazdas have kept both my wife and I safe in accidents, have been insanely reliable, and are great to drive. Will never buy from another brand again. The only thing I wish is that they would bring back the small truck segment - miss the B2200!

Hatchbacks can be noisier and have more interior volume to heat and cool. They are convenient for grocery shopping compared to a sedan, but not as secure for leaving stuff in the storage area (hatch area vs. trunk).
@baronvonjo19292 жыл бұрын
If somebody wants to get into a hatch they will bust the window. If somebody want to get into a sedan they will bust the window and unlatch the trunk in the driver area. Sedans are not magically more secure. If they want to take a look in your car they will do it. I don't mean to sound rude but it's just logic.

I have a 2008 Mazda3 GT, manual transmission, with 187,000 miles. Bought it used 6 years ago with 48,000 miles. The only problems I had, besides replacing brakes and clutch ( around 160,000 miles), is #1 oxygen sensor when I first got it and I think I need a new alternator soon. It's been a great reliable car and is my daily driver. Still gets around 28 mpg commuting and around 33 mpg during road trips. When it hits 215,000 miles, I plan on getting another Mazda3. Really thinking of getting the hatchback. Of course it will have to be manual transmission!

I worked for Mazda when the Mazda 3 became popular. The 3 was originally always made in Japan which helped in the reliability and solid build quality. The 2018 Mazda 3 I drove was nice but the shifter felt stiff. You might give Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla Hatches a look too. I have not driven the latest Mazda 3.

Don't get rid of it because of miles...my friend has a 2010 6 spd with 242k and runs like new, she got it like 6 years ago
@mikel96562 жыл бұрын
that's funny you had pretty much the same car I had and had exactly the same "issues" at nearly the same mileage lol. I don't consider an oxygen sensor a problem those can fail any time, breaks and a clutch are both wear items so that's really just basic maintenance. FYI my little bro now has my old 3 hatch GT, he has it up to 220K miles. I've had 2 of the 4th gen 3's. I bought a premium and was quit fond of it, but I wanted more zoom zoom, so a year later I bought a Turbo. Only complaint i have with it is they don't offer it in a stick. i really didn't realize how much i was going to miss the stick. It just makes things more fun.
