Spending the Holiday Weekend at Coeur D Alene. New Years Eve Weekend 2021

Let's spend the holiday weekend at Coeur d Alene just 5 hours east from Seattle. Coeur d Alene is a small little town located in Idaho that is known for their Coeur d Alene resort.
I was looking for a place to get away for the New Year's Eve weekend and I remember Coeur D Alene as one of the "destinations" to go to for the Christmas Holidays.
If you plan on visiting Coeur D Alene during the winter season, first thing you should always do is to check for the weather and road conditions. During our visit, the I-90 pass was cleared to pass, but depending on the road conditions, this road is often times closed.

Temperatures at Coeur D Alene can also get well below freezing temperatures so make sure you have the right gear and the right clothing!
Driving to Coeur D Alene took us about 5 - 6 hours as we made some stops along the way. We made a quick 10-minute detour stop at Lake Easton to use the bathroom and stretch our legs; had lunch over Fiesta de Jalisco at Ellensburg before stopping at our hotel at the Red Lion in Post Falls.

For the New Year's Celebration, I made a reservation for the North Pole Cruise, which is part of the Coeur D Alene resort. The tickets were about $35 per person and includes a champagne drink as well as bountiful selection of free desserts!

Because many of the stores were closed for New Years Day, the only few things that were available for us to do was to visit the Seven Stars Alpaca Ranch. For $10 per person, you get a chance to participate in a "mini- zoo" of sorts where you get the opportunity to pet some cute horses, miniature horses, donkeys, goats, and of course, the Alpacas! Driving here can be a little tricky so make sure to check road conditions and that your vehicle is well equipped to be able to drive in the snow!

For dinner we made reservations at Satay Bistro, which is categorized as Asian Fusion cuisine. They are primarily known for the Tapa's style dishes. Check out their full menu here!
