Anand....perfect, as you said. He says his name means "happy" and that is definitely what he appears to have given to you--your Happy. Your smile and energy. As you said later, he restored your humanity. Made you feel like a welcomed guest instead of the object that the people in the North treated you like. We can see just how great a time you had there, and it really seems like a lot of that came from Anand, as well as that amazing place. He sounds like he was a great teacher and created that genuine connection. Heck...he's obviously a great person. * What did that laundry smell like? Clean? Or...not so clean? * Loved how he always called you "Ms. Lee." * Really like you allowing Anand to talk about his own city. The looks on your face while describing the prior use of the gardens was hilarious! * After describing the food at that one stall, props to Anand...let's go find something more "authentic!" And good job working with you to find a great coffee. * This is what a real tour guide should be! Show you his city, but make sure your tour works with what you want and need. Not just take you to some photo spot or some over priced restaurant or store, but show you the city. Awesome. * Pretty beach! Was it vacant because of the hot weather? * This particular vlog is "Travel with Anand!" Awesome to let him take over at the Gateway and the hotel! 🤣 * When next you visit--try the Taj Mahal hotel...wow. Would love to see what it's like in there! * Good call on skipping the caves...better to see the city and learn as much as you did from Anand. * Watching your videos makes sticking to my healthy diet a bit challenging...that Masala looked soooooooooo good! * Pretty neat seeing the street market...that turned into a "chop shop?" Wow. * How cool to go to the Cow Shelter...you really enjoyed that so much! * I've got a big grin on my face while you talk to us in the taxi and hearing how happy you were in Mumbai and how well Anand restored your faith. What an amazing day. Glad you were able to continue to persevere through the bad in the North and discover beautiful Anand and Mumbai! Here's hoping the good vibes continued and we look forward to next week! Rob&Erin

He made this day so much fun. hahaha the laundry actually smelled so good! It was so fresh hahaha Love it! Yes I think the beach was empty because it's the height of summer and super hot. Maybe it's more popular later in the day and maybe on weekends too? Hope you both have a great week ahead. P x

Am a Mumbai resident. Its not what you'd call a typically 'touristy' city. Youve more or less covered everything that any tourist visiting Mumbai would cover. Its usually a lot of walking in town- 'South Bombay'- where all the Victorian Buildings are - the same larger area as the Asiatic Library you've captured in this video. My city's got by far the best vibe in the country (ofcourse im biased - who isnt ? ) so just walk around- enjoy the vibe- the constant hustle bustle - the honking not so much- the food & the sunset at marine drive. An added tip- next time, try the 'filter coffee' WITH sugar/jaggery & NOT with cow milk. That'l give you a real taste of it. Given your experiences in India- just be safe and commence & end your trip here in Mumbai. Happy Travels !

I didnt know why they wanted a picture with me, and I didn't say no or anything, but I feel like if i would have, they would have gone away. Nothing like what you described in India. Those cows were so happy with you bringing food. Being rich is not about money. Being rich is about learning cultures, experiencing things, travel the world. It makes me proud seeing you travel all around the globe, even at places that are not the safest for a solo traveling woman. Thank you for sharing and have an amazing week ahead 🤙

Northern suburbs will give you a different profile of Mumbai altogether. South Mumbai, that you visited is very good, but a lot of travelers do not get recommended to try the northern part, which is equally safe, if not more. It is not as glorified as South Mumbai, but it is definitely free of british feeling. I am not the right person to suggest a good tour guide, since I am from Mumbai, but I can definitely recommend you places to visit in suburbs.

You should visit more offbeat locations in northern mumbai like Kanheri caves which is 2000 yrs old marvel and gorai beach and village

Ahh never mind found him in your info. However, was this a one day or two day Mumbai tour. The link you posted takes me to a multiple day tour for over 700 US.. but i don't think that's the one you did. Could you share which is the one you did in Mumbai?

If you enjoy seafood (Very ethinic to coastal region of Maharastra), you should go to Highway Gomantak.Used to be my favourite place when i lived in Mumbai.Mumbai is ny birth place however i have moved to New Zealand. Highway Gomantak is a local gem and very few might know about it.Another place for good sea good is Mahesh lunch home but will be pricey.The real gems in Mumbai for food are the ones that are very local .

@6:20 you guys were at BanGanga looking for breakfast and just a short walk down at Babulnath is Dave. I would have headed there for their Samosa and tea. Coffee in India is “South Indian” filter coffee. Why go to Third Wave? It’s hardly “Desi”. So glad you got to have it @12:10 I am surprised you didn’t get to have Vada-Pao or a “Nariyal” (coconut water). I live in Mumbai (I was born here in 1963). There are several good hotels that aren’t as expensive as the Taj. The list would be too long to list in these comments. I am not a tour guide or someone affiliated to the travel industry but over the last several decades has helped advise several friends about India. If you need any specific advice, please comment below.

Could you please list some hotels in Mumbai? I’m travelling to Mumbai in December, so if you have any other tips for me as well I would appreciate it.
@navinadv2 ай бұрын
@@idalaugen5539 what is your expected budget and level of service? Mumbai (south) offers you hotels that will charge you a minimum of $300 per night for a regular room to some that start at $200 and others that can offer you a room for $10 or less. You will of course be able to see these prices at any travel website such as Booking or Expedia. Hotels from the Taj or Oberoi group are among the best with many boutique hotels coming close and some budget friendly ones that offer you just the basics.
@navinadv19 күн бұрын
@@idalaugen5539 somehow i missed this comment. I don’t frequent you tube. Anyway what tips do you need? The most important tip i would give is to find a good reliable travel agent. India has a lot of touts and people who will take advantage of a foreigner. The general impression among Indians is that white people are rich and they will not think twice to overcharge you. Also if you are a female traveller please find a group. Do not travel alone especially in the north and some tacky places like Goa. Mumbai is safer. Book decent hotels. Know the area where your hotel is. Just like any big city Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Calcutta have good and bad neighborhoods. Stay safe.

Phoebe how do you find these one on one guides. Those who are reliable, honest and safe. Thinking about going to London and would like to fashion trip with a private tour. Also cost is a factor for us as well. Thank you in advance.

haha I just get lucky!! Anand was organised by the company I booked the tour through (linked in the vid description) but not every guide I've had in India has been amazing like Anand and Singh - they've been exceptional. If I were looking to book a guide/one-day tour myself, I would've just booked one through Klook (links in video description too).
