I could see replacing those foam plates with kydex, and you'd have a modern coat of plates

Is this the new 800N version or the old 350N version? Asking because I have the old 350N version and I'm wondering if the new version has any serious improvements other than the higher puncture resistance. Biggest flaw of the old version is the near complete lack of protection for the top of the shoulders. Even with a gorgets with side flaps for the collarbone there will be a gap leaving bony areas mostly unprotected. As you mentioned it's an area where one gets hit rarely but one unlucky hit has the potential to prevent training for several weeks. The sides of the shoulders have excellent padding and with the foam inserts the protection is higher than on most medium jackets, I just wish the protection would extend to the top plane.

Good question! This is for the 350N, and I do agree. I've only been hit there once but it hurt as I mentioned in the video. I was fine to go by the next week personally, but I could see it being more serious.
