Every champion has a win condition, figure out what your opponent's is and don't give it to them. Riven isn't OP, armor and good positioning will win it for you. You can't fight certain champions early on as certain champions. Jax and riven have great level 1's, so does Darius.

@@ch1dd I didn't say surrender everything. Be aware of cooldowns, if riven uses her Q to get cs then keep track of it. If she has her cooldowns and you don't, back off. Don't be stupid is what I'm trying to say. If you can't win the lane then protect the tower as well as you can and manage the wave. When fighting a Jax I don't fight him with his E period, if I fight a riven I don't fight her when she has 3rd Q ready. You want to be in the advantageous position, not her. I don't like playing Kled because of how aggressive you have to play. LoL is an ebb and flow game all about decision making. One mistake can cost you the game and one can win you the game. I don't have as much issue with Rivens or Jax's as people seem to due to a more aware decision making. Riven wants to fight you when she's set up or far enough ahead when you don't have your important ability to save you. I've beaten riven's in lane by respecting the player. At the end of the video hashinshin sort of mocks the chat that 'he might have played the game for a long time and gotten good.' and at no point does it cross his mind that his opponents have as well. Do I think that Riven and Jax could use with some nerfs? yes, I'm bias against them but I acknowledge it. For reference I play Darius, Mundo and Orn toplane. Riven vs Orn: Wait until he uses his W. (as Riven) Riven Vs Darius: Dodge Q or wait for him to use pull or wiff Q. (As Riven) Riven Vs Mundo: Kill him quickly before his ult can save him and dodge cleavers. (As Riven) While the matchups are a bit more complicated than that, that's the basic stuff I think of when I fight a riven is 'what do they want to happen before fighting me?' A riven using Q means one of two things: she's about to engage and you need to back off, or she's trying to hard push the wave to put pressure on tower. Sometimes you have to wait for your team because the player your fighting is just that good, sometimes you end up capitalizing on the Riven's Mistakes. Each game is different and treat it like such.

In my honest opinion, Aatrox base stats need a nerf. However, they need to fix his kit some and give him some quality of life changes like being able to move during his Q, etc. He’s too easy to outplay with any champion that has mobility but just shits on anything that can’t move out of his way quickly enough. I don’t think it’s fair that Riven, Renekton, Kled, etc. can outplay him all game but get in in a single combo and lose 3/4 their hp. I don’t think it’s fair that Jinx gets hit by 2 Qs and gets blown up while a good Lucian will never get hit by Aatrox clunky kit. Make Aatrox have a higher skill cap and the ability to play the game but nerf his base stats so he actually has to hit all 3 Qs and be a duelist rather than a oneshot juggernaut tank that needs his team to babysit him every teamfight. Just my 2 cent. Anyone else?

I feel like hashinshin has a really good point about riven, even tho I really enjoy her and can play her decently she is way to strong. When I play against her and even play as her I feel like the only way to kill her/winning against her is by her doing a mistake and me taking advantage of it, I have never really been feeling in the last season the I have won a fair 1v1 against riven when both players made no major mistakes except on essence reaver jax because I can then block 60% of her damage

Not a Darius main but I love the champion, don't play him because of how unplayable he is in high elo, he becomes too team dependant ( unlike in low elo ), Riven has 4 dashes, 2 stuns, burst damage and auto resets after auto resets, it's abusive in high elo the only reason she isn't nerfed to the ground is because she sucks in low elo, those fucking retards don't know how to play her

Alright I will admit this as a Riven main. She is pretty broken. Riven controls the match up completely and she has amazing teamfighting abilities. You choose how you play. She is waay better than Irelia. She can use her abilities to either engage or disengage. Play safe or aggro. Can 1v2. If you can play her to the best of her abilities she is pretty unbeatable. That includes the counterpicks.

what if they gave jax e a high slow instead of a stun instead, how many other abilities lets you block damage(aka all damage from autos making a whole role useless during its duration), then when it has damage on it when it procs(sure its not a huge amount of damage but still) as well as an aoe stun. so maybe either make it a microstun or whatever people call it or a 60% slow or whatever(.25 sec or something like that) or make the dodge part do all single targeted abilities do reduced damage (higher % rank lvl) also the area on it is insane, aka a 300 radius, maybe make it 250 or 225?. ooh yea i almost forgot, his e takes 25% reduced damage from aoe abilities.

Big problem with Riot is how they wanna "add" stuff. But really, they are just adding stuff to champs that, frankly, shouldnt be there. Ravenous Hunter, for example: Why not "have healing in kit" or... well, not. Same for triumph, which makes towerdives just too easy. Comet/Aery adds poke to champs with should not have it/as much of it. Electrocute adds burst to champs that shouldnt burst so hard(say, bard, for example). The idea of runes is to enhance your strengths and even out bad matchups. It should not add something completely unrelated to that. Ravenous hunter feels fine on, say, Aatrox or Illaoi... but is kind of a shitshow on any mage, completely out of place on their kit. Aftershock, generally, feels fine on tanks(just needs to right tuning on numbers), but warps balance on anything that happens to have CC in their kit.

Man the best part is most of the things Hashinshin talks about are only relevant to plat+ which is only 10% of north american players. I bet the gold and lower employees at riot feel the need to try to help their people. Even if its their game they really dont understand how it plays, only how to code it and how to throw a dart at an idea board. They need to hire Hashinshin on as a game design counselor for a 2 week probation period and let him have those 2 weeks to try his ideas on the PBE and see what happens. If hes crazy and his ideas fail its just a probation period on the test server and can be reverted. Id have faith since hes the only one constantly searching for the improvement of this game before it dies off.

But Aatrox does need a nerf. I played a riven vs aatrox matchup a while back, I literally went (Q+basic)x3 stun+basic before lvl 6, I also dodged the first 2 Q's. He just landed the last Q as a crit and used the passive enhanced auto and he out traded me. Yeah great champ design, not to mention after he gets a serrated dirk he can almost kill you from his Q alone.
