Actually, locations like Restaurant Row are pretty common in the big cities. There is a similar venue in the Roman District of Paris that gets a lot of traffic because of the saturation.

I'm not a critic or a analyst maybe one day, but watching your vids raised some questions. One of the being where are their hair nets and I know they have hooves, but if they can wear flippers where are their gloves? If you think about it the no rating thing wasn't from the food, it was from the food safety measures that they weren't implementing

I can think of one upside of having all the restaurants on one street- you don't have to worry about getting lost when going somewhere to eat, at least not worry about it as much. Everything is in one spot, and you don't have to wander through alleys or something to find somewhere to eat (as I've had to do in the past)... so it's better for people like me who also happen to have basically no sense of direction, and who wouldn't be able to find their way out of a wet paper bag. But on all other fronts is a terrible idea. You always point things out I didn't notice in these episodes, and I love all of the quips you make in these "In a Minute" videos, they make my day! Thank you so much for making these!

0:35 Minneapolis actually has something similar nicknamed "Eat Street." There are other places with restaurants, it's just that all of the really popular ones are practically built on top of each other.

Lily complaining how having a street full of restaurants is inefficient, but here in Serbia my city did exactly that and all the restaurants and fast food places are doing wonderfully for the most part. Plus it's easier to have all the food places in one street, you can just walk around and find what you like the most and there are restaurants in other places, there's just also a street full of delicious food! P.S. Hi from Serbia!
@PuritySin8 жыл бұрын
It's kind of common to see restaurants all in the same area. It's usually done where there are going to be a lot of tourists like say a beach, you normally see restaurants clustered together with maybe a few shops inbetween so people can eat then shop.

... I only remember Rarity and Pinkie Pie being an adorable couple, even after watching this, I was just thinking - "MY OTP INTERACTED AND HUGGED IT WAS WONDERFUL" so I always forget how completely and utterly flawed it is, probably for the best. Shame they had one of the weaker not-Starlight episodes of the season, they actually have really good chemistry, teamwork and are similar and still different enough for a lot of great stories to work. That's what you get I guess, when only after four/five seasons do they start realizing that Rarity can have an episode with someone who isn't Applejack or Sweetie Belle. Does this count as the first bad Rarity episode, or does it being a costar outing save her otherwise clean record?

First of all, glad to see a new one of these. Second of all, this was not one of my favorite episodes honestly. The writer clearly doesn't know anything about Rarity's character. If they did, they wouldn't have her say anything about the restaurant being "the same as everyone else". That coming out of Rarity's mouth made me hate the episode immediately.

I don't know, in old parts of the cities here you have lots of best dining places in the whole city in one place. Tho they're so different they all have clients! @Breathless20128 жыл бұрын
Hunter Wilson That's what the message of the episode was. At least from what I took from it. And my comment was about how I'm sorry that Lily couldn't enjoy it, and that I took something else from it than what she did. What message I saw from it was something similar as to what Silver Quill states in his video about it. Also, I posted this message before there was a top comment. So, can't exactly read a comment before making my comment if the comment hadn't even existed yet.

@LilianOrchard8 жыл бұрын
The themes involve telling a critic not to do her job, instead of putting the blame for a stagnant industry where it belongs: On the public. Additionally, both Rarity and Pinkie's extremes of "Follow the crowd" and "never change because someone wants you to" are the worst kind of lessons to teach children. Thematically, this entire episode was a mess from top to bottom.
@LilianOrchard8 жыл бұрын
Awesomo It is impossible for a critic to force people to follow their opinions. No matter how insistent they are, people always have the ability to ignore them. A common fallacy people make is mistaking somebody being insistent as trying to force their opinions on others. In reality, no critic is capable of doing that. Ebert couldn't do that, Moviebob can't do that, and I can't do that. Nobody is forcing their opinions on you, no matter how much your persecution complex claims otherwise. The people of Canterlot agreed to follow her opinions like sheep. It's entirely on them for always eating at the same places and influencing the industry that way.
@herasucks8 жыл бұрын
Isn't this what the episode is trying to say? That people have their own opinions and can like what they want, and at the end of the day, a critic can only give a rating and can't tell a person what they can or can't do? Zesty, as a critic had the power to give influence through rating and approval, but it is not her job to enter a restaurant she has rated badly and encourage the customers to leave. The lesson of the episode was to teach kids (the target audience) that they have a voice, no matter how much others try to influence them.
@LilianOrchard8 жыл бұрын
herasucks The problem is that Zesty was deliberately written in such a way as to put the lecture on her rather than on the people. She's a Straw Critic.

I already commented on this, but then I saw the synopsis for the season finale. Looks like it'll be the most Starlight centered episode(s) of the season.
